i was under the impression that general mininions didn't provide gold/xp?? it used to be like that at least...

otherwise, priests are always worth it heal you, heal team mates, run of mines and heal them selves (if not blow up completly), scout, make toast... i love em.

When I am playing TB I'm happy when other team gets priests early.

they were rebalanced a while back as before this wasn't even a question, you didn't upgrade till you could go straight to cat's.

this is the first post sine then i've seen broaching the subject so my guess people are happy with the balance.

though i'm not much for number crunching, i'd say it doesn't feel as dangerous a thing to do as it once did, but i still don't get them till the other team does, we're behind anyway or i can afford (and have the rank) to get at least angles as well.

p.s. but again, i play sedna so i don't need the free heals so much.

Priest give less xp than grunts,not sure about the gold,think its less too.I would say the healing and pushing power they give offsets the extra xp and gold.That's my opinion on the matter.

If there's an erebus on the other team then i'll typically wait to get priests a bit. Otherwise they certainly help.

if you have 0 generals on your team, you need to go early priests.

it is also worth buying them early if you have a LOT of hp.

otherwise I tend to get them at level 10, because they do help to apply pressure and keep you in combat longer, which is very useful mid game to steamroll until end game. the bonus experience and gold the enemy team earns from priests is negligible. its only giants that pose a problem, if you fail to push the citadel and they manage to hold out, they will outlevel you by far.

Since there's usually 1 general on my team at some point or another, I get priests when the enemy does.... not 1 minute later, not 1 minute earlier..... unless its a pwn fest and we got like 10k gold from people rushing too far into towers. Perhaps if you drop the enemy towers super fast, going for priests could be a huge advantage. They can't hide behind towers to hold a lane, and you can push up and get heals ontop of your general's priests.

Getting priests early is still bad. Don't do it, especially if the other team has Heaven's wrath. Priests are snacks when someone has Heaven's Wrath.

Rain of Ice only covers a small area, not the entire map. Not unless you think that a tb of level 5 is also, like, omnipresent.

if the other team is using heavens wrath you've won. thats such a bad favor item, which is used mostly on reg to..make a higher lvl reg? oh noes! reg is just a feeder in high lvl games. further more if one person is using heavens warth, its robbing the other team of xp. making them under lvled and easier to kill. + they have some nub using HW.

Most of the time you are right Ryan, but I'm actually working on a strat that uses a TB WITH heavens wrath HEavens Wrath is a VERY situtational item that can be properly used under very specific circumstances, which never occur in a PUG game. Ice TB is actually playable, and can be useful. That being said, I don't think I've ever lost with my premade against a team with a TB or a reg. (Unless we lost because someone dropped)

I always thought that Blood of the Fallen was what the obvious choice to get was so you could counter his massive squishy problem...

That is like speed stacking a rook. It does no good - anyone else with speed will still be faster. A TB is, and always will be, squishy. Sure, health stack as much as possible, but it's better instead to get speed and use your frost aura/rain of ice/ice nova to bail then to just add more health. If that UB also gets BotF, your BotF will do you no good at all. If he gets swift Anklet, your swift anklet will still get you out.

There are Pro Regs that use HW. I've played with them. That's why you use HW to farm lanes when no one is there. It still doesn't change my point. Buying priests when someone has HW is a bad idea.

Yeah, Heaven's Wrath can be used in really bad ways.. but it can also really mess up peoples 'fight or flight' math, or at worst, cause them to run earlier.
