So, everyone's told you that Yetis are crap. In all-but-one situation, I would agree with you. The problem with Yetis is that they do not become a reckoning force until level 10, and at that point additional reinforcements begin to spawn and they lose effectiveness. Since no one really checks game settings, set the starting level to Level 10 and start out with high gold. Under these conditions, yetis are a viable option. Otherwise, you'll be completely useless for 2/3rds of the game.
Here's my build:
Favor: Ring of Divine Might
Yetis are durable, but need damage. This item will help them.
Build:
1. Horn of the Yeti I
2. Morale I
3. Save
4. Horn of the Yeti II / Morale II
5. Magnificent Presence I
6. Morale III
7. Horn of the Yeti III
8. Morale IV
9. Save
10. Horn of the Yeti IV / Magnificent Presence II
Items: (All of these items are supposing that you have high starting gold)
Scaled Helm
Priests IV / Minotaurs IV / Seige Demolishers IV
Boots of Speed (You will be able to afford up to here with your starting gold)
Wand of Speed
Forest Band
Gloves of Fell Darkur
Gladiator Gloves
Twig of Life
Gameplay:
It's your job to take down the citadel. Your minion horde will be able to do 430 dps. On Cataract, start right next to your middle towers and summon your horde. Use the wand of speed. Run your minions at your opponent's tower behind the artifact flag and then head back to spawn. When your minion horde dies, resummon and repeat.
You need the scaled helm in order to have enough base mana to summon your minions. Magnificent presence serves two purposes. It makes your minions more powerful and it lets you summon your minions much more quickly. On Cataract, you should be able to summon your minion wave every 22 seconds. Run back and forth between spawn refueling mana. Take out the towers on one side of their reinforcement flag. Then, you've got a straight shot at the citadel. Your minions will force them to be on the defensive and defend the citadel. Your minions will be fast and spammable, making them hard to counter. Try this build once with the game settings just for kicks! It's a lot of fun; it's just not that viable for most situations.
