Do people hate to concede?

In a few games, I have gotten players who wont communicate at all let alone concede.

Now I wont concede as soon as ive determined we cant win, but usually a few min later just to be sure. In the above case, my team doesnt talk at all, or work together, let alone agree to concede.

I will then tell the other team gg, my team wont talk, and wont concede. This is not a rage, I just wanted to say gg before I leave to get onto my next game, as the current one is over (even though it could go on for a while longer, still resulting im my loss).

I have been flamed bad for doing this by the other team. All I can figure is that they want a to stomp and not have a fight. I mean when you are 4 lvl warscore, and 10 kills behind what the point. especially if the other team is coordinated and yours wont even chat at all.

So am I just stupid noob kid that deserves to be flamed for saying gg, and that im out so I can get into a new game, or not?

I have won, and seen people win, games that they conceeded. Because it turned out they weren't as bad off, or that the opponent didn't know how to capitalize.

I think the problem is that some people don't stop having fun even if they think they are going to lose, and some do. If you cannot enjoy a game once you think you will lose, you want to conceed right away to start a new one. If you still find it interesting and valuable, then you stay in. I proscribe to the latter, since I'm fairly amiable about losing.

ya I've won games that seem over. I've been down 10 kills and a collective 9 levels and still come back to win...

don't concede / quit when you're losing / can't win

the only reason to concede or quit is if one of your teammates leave imo

I hate it when I'm winning and the other team concedes and keeps me from destroying their citadel

And I hate it when I have to spend another 10-15 minutes waiting for the final nail in the coffin once it's clear that we literally stand no chance.

if it's obvious you're not going to win before the game ends then it was probably obvious you wern't going to win before the game started and you shouldn't even be in the game

Conceding is great, noone likes to be bashed and playing another 10 mins against players with half your hp becomes boring fast.

like i said theres nothing wrong with loosing a gg. but when the winning team is a artifact whore instead of just finishing the game they wanna compete for kills and prolong it...concede is a great option...yeo dan comparing soccer to demigod is like saying you have a extra chromosone ...it makes no sense.

By all means, many games can be comebacks, as I have dome it myself, but really some games are obious losers fairly early.

You can tell if your team is not working together, and theirs is. It doesnt happen that often, but I have had games where people wont even chat at all... Nothing. I dont want to make small talk, but basic coordination goes a long way, even if it is just s to call out a snipe, or oom and what have you.

I will gladly fight to the end with a team that is working together, as that is when comebacks are possible. But I will not stay 10-20 min just to watch the other team play with us like a cat does to a mouse.

Just played a game with some randoms.

My teammate said gg about half-way the game, the other team had one of our portals, they had all the middle flags, they had the kill and level advantage.

I told him not to give up, we ended up winning the game.

I'm not comparing soccer to demigod, I'm just saying that in any other game ppl don't just quit because they're losing, it's lame, it sucks for the ppl who are winning.
Okay there are other games that allow you to quit when you're losing, but most games don't because it sucks!

edit: on the other hand I do agree it's not lame to concede if the other team is just farming you instead of trying to win the game, but I've never seen this happen

The zero communication is an issue.. but..

Conceding early is silly. I've won a TON of games by coming back. I just won a game earlier today where we were outleveled like crazy, we all had 1-2 kills and 6-8 deaths, and the other team had an assassin Erebus with 13 kills and 0 deaths.

When they started to say concede.. we started to flag lock and never fight. We controlled the map, got war score 10 while they were 6/7, and beat them just because of the giants.

If we conceded, that would've been a loss.

I only like to concede if the team doesn't communicate at all and we're losing (hence nothing like the above can happen...) or if people DC'd/quit while we were already behind and the other team is farming the AI.

I agree that there are many times where you should not concede, but Ill give a specific set of circumstances.

10+ kill behind, 2+player lvls behind, and 3+ warscore lvls behind (when you opponate hits lvl 8). I dont see how you can reasonably come back from that.

They should have map control and catas comin at you, at that point your warscore is static, while they quickly get to 10, and giants. There should be no coming back from that. Especially if your team wont work together or communicate.

those arn't very good ways to see wether to concede or not

you could be war rank 1 and the other team war rank 10 because they locked all the portals the entire game, they won't have any money for equip / creeps though so you can still win even when 10 war rank levels behind

this probably won't ever happen, but it all depends on the situation, you can make a comeback from any kind of situation no matter how bad it seems, unless the other team is just better

it depends, the balance of demigod is a little slippery slope sometimes. Some games are won simply because of feeders. Why should I go on and fight fed enemies when my ally has died 10 times already (seriously, how do you manage to die that much?) and doesnt intent on being any more careful or any more useful?

Many ppl here talk about comebacks but there isnt always a chance. In a bad team the game just isnt fun. No offence but all your exampels mean nothing to me. Conceding isnt my option when I lose with my team, its my option when I lose because of my team (or when my team loses because of me but that only happens rarely). Yeodan, you capped one of their portals. this means that you managed to hold your enemies of from 3 portals and you probably had at least cats. If thats the case you cant say you are losing yet. also, when you are at the stage of giants for 1 of the teams you can let them win, its when you are still at angel-stage and are way behind in kills.

Yep, I was in that game

. It was so frustrating, I told my teammates that recapping that portal has the highest priority and I simply couldn't do it alone. Either I got damaged too much in the process or my boulder roll was not ready yet to interrupt the next flag lock... so frustrating. But they never helped me.

I've won a couple of games like that too. In some of them I wanted to concede early on too .

See, you may have been behind, but the people you were playing against were not working together, and it came down to whether spooky could stop you from capping or not, had he stopped you once or twice, he could have won...

Spooky__ i think i was in that game but not sure..

To caputure the flags and lock it can really change the whole game.

I killed as many creeps as i could and ran to the flags to lock them but since i was there a player of the opposite team ported there and stoped me to capture it .. then he locked it and the game was over.

I was just a few seconds to late but it was to late .

So what do we learn about that? In late game allways buy scrolls to port and lock the flags.

Its important to win the whole game.

lol that game was so funny

I was constantly yelling at my team to relock the flags, and they actually did

wimmetje, we just hit WR9 when they got giants, lucky we had cats and some nice creep upgrades too

we had a serious kill disadvantage, they just didn't notice I was at their port, or couldn't tele to me for some reason, if any person on the other team would have come after me he would have killed me, they actually did kill me like 3 more times when I was capping / relocking their portals, but who cares about a death when you can lock a portal right?

the other team was pretty good though, I was pretty sure we were going to lose, even after I capped that portal, but once I noticed my team was capable of keeping the portals locked I was like 'Yay we'll win'

Yeah, I had just teleported back to my base and was on my way to the middle again, when you went for the flag. I pinged for the others, but no one had a TP scroll I think.
