Because there would be alot more crying on this forum then there already is.  This community is about to fill the ocean, we gotta find more room!

i actually assumed it was a tactic to promote ready to play, and i even posted it in the journals where frogboy mentioned that theyd select a number of ppl who signed up for r2p to test the new demis.

its a pretty dog move imo. but if thats what they decided on, so be it.

TBH, i reckon the more ppl who test, the better it is. You may get those players who migh post dodgy threads on the topic but you would prob get more constructive feedback more than anything else.

i also dont see why a certain few should get the privelage of testing the most anticipated update for the game, just because they signed up for rdy to play. There will be many sad faces...

Because if the people who we pick to test them have R2P, it makes it significantly easier to get them together to test stuff at any given time. Brad already went over that at the announcement, IIRC.

R2P isn't a big secret. If you don't have it, just ask someone who does for an invite.

it may but in regards to balancing a character out, these forums are prob the best way to do that. You will get a lot of ppl from different play styles and skill levels and team tactics, which will give the devs a better understanding on what needs to be balanced out.

Everyones opinions of how a character should be will differ no matter what. People will think that something is blanaced while other will think of other reason why it will not be balanced. By restricting the new demis to a minority, you are only delaying others who wont get the initial chance to express their views on the characters, who will then later bitch and moan about things that they think need to be changed anyway.

OMG OP thread are bound to come about. even after the testing.

but there will be those who are willing to give constructive feedback. then its just a matter of filtering out the unecessary threads.

So you agree with me about the divsion in community that this will create, thanks.  Why is there a need to divide community?  I think however that they intend (correct me if i am wrong) to allow these beta players to play against people with normal version( as i would assume to test future purchase demigods).

Beta testers mean nothing to this game which was released in the state it was.  And signing up for RTP doesn't require a career in game testing, so why for the need to create a division in community.  As Gkrit has noted the forums are the best place to give constructive feedback given that people actually are capable of reading and supporting arguments.  What is the difficulty of contacting a forum member who makes a reasonably proposed argument to test it, stardock has their contact details, how is the details of a forum member any different to ready to play? 

No one has yet given a decent reason as to why there is a need to divide the community?  Yes this is division is mostly from the people who were too lazy to sign up, but lets be honest will this division really help testing?  Please think about your answers.

About what Frogboy said. Yarlen went over it pretty well.

1.2 will patch automatically. The 2 news guys will be DLC. Impulse needs to be updated to support DLC. Then it will be a separate download. The amount of downloads is directly related to more Demigod DLC.

Assuming they come out of the gate somewhat balanced, I'm going to be excited to play against the new DGs.  Hopefully others feel the same way and we won't be seeing too many games named "3v3 US No New DGs!"

If they're broken and no one wants to play with or against them, then maybe GPG might possibly balance them in a somewhat timely manner... maybe?

Why should I want to play against or with demigods that most likely will be unbalanced if I care about rankings, that is I believe rankings matter?  As I have asked before  what does this say about the integrity of the ranking system?  Does this mean there will be changes to ranking system soon to come?  Thanks again for replying.
