Date your Versions Please?

Hi Guys!

I like, no, I love what's happening on this forum. But I had a suggestion to help keep things organized. Which is especially important since it doesn't look like we're going to get a real MOD repository any time soon.

Could you put the date of the MOD version somewhere in your thread?

I like the idea of Editing Original Posts when you put out a new version, but please put the date of the update either in the Version History or prefereably in the thread topic.

Since commenting on a thread bounces it to the top, it makes it difficult to tell if a new version is out, or if the mod is just being discussed. I don't remember the Version number of all my mods, so if I see your mod near the top of the list I click it and read check to see if there are new features that I don't have. But if I can see at a glance that the latest version is still the version from 3 days ago then I don't have to click the thread to see if there's actually been an update.

It would just make it easier for me to keep everything up to date.

Just a suggestion.

Agreed! I was actually going to post this on a specific mod post once and I think I got sidetracked. It would be good though because sometimes I forget what version number I have, but if the post had a release date for the most recent one I'd be more likely to remember how recently I downloaded it over what version number I downloaded.

And of course, thank you modders for doing all that modding! It's great trying all these new things out!

Also, make sure to change your mods GUID for each version you release. The GUID is what the game checks to make sure everyone has a particular mod.

This, of course, only applies to sim side mods.
