Also the Breen despite being weak specialize in disabling ships. Having a few dozen wont hurt you, because they may have a good chance of getting their energy dampeners off first. Then the Jem Hadar can pretty much pick off ships at will.

The Dominion on Vicious AI are no joke. In several comp stomp tests they always seem to be the only faction that can take on the Borg on their own, and win. Though they seem to have trouble dealing with the Feds.

It is good to play all of the factions to see what all of the units can and cannot do. Then you can form strategy's from there, and figure out what balance of ships works best for you.

If you would have read a few pages back (Yea, i know its a pain to read back), You would have seen that these are already known issues. Also that we are working on these issues, and that we are waiting on our UI guy to come back, and fix our broken UI (he is currently on another project right now). The mod despite being 3 years old is still a Work In Progress, and there is stuff that is not finished yet. The SoA2 Team are very few, and there is a LOT left to do just for the Diplomacy version.

You are gonna jump in here with an attitude like that, with NO information as to What version of Sins you are running, What version of the Mod you are trying to run, If in fact you even bothered to read the README in the mod, and expect us to smile, hold your hand, and play tech support for you??!! F**K OFF!

You need to get the ModDB version which the link to the site is on the main topic. Its 3 installs. For Diplomacy it is in this order.. 1.21 (main download), then patch 1.21a, then 1.3, then 1.31. Read the installation instructions carefully. I know its a pain to have all these patches. Thats why our next build will be a full install.

The 0.4.6 series is for Entrenchment only.

While I do not play this mod, most of you questions are general engine/modding issues so I think I can answer them.

1. Hmm, that is odd, but it could. If the borg have certain key units like colony frigate, capitalships etc. that take a long time to build already then they might progress much slower than usual as the AI might wait to get these units. Where they behind in expansion, military build up etc. If research is the only thing they are lacking in, they may just be an AI type that gives a low priority to research.

2. Its how big your fleet is mostly. In other words how big of a threat you could be to them.

3. You can change the phase jump speed for all ships of a specific race but not individual ships.

1. I understand the borg is intended to be slower, but after 2 hours they have not even started to research anything, and, they had load of money sitting there. I noticed that their single ship (coloney) was using almost of of their initial supply, and, becasue of no techs, had quite a few planets not cononised. If this is WAD then sweet.

2. In WoK that statement was after the Enterprise was hammered with its shields down. From Starfleet battles (a fairly cannonish board game) from years ago, IIRC the constituion of the time was a command cruiser, and the miranda was a frigate of some sort (one level down). Anyway, as I said just an opinion and I might just swap it around for my own sake

3. I am very happy with fleet supply, I even lower it (most of the posts complaining about fleet size, were asking for an increase), but one of the things I love most about your balancing of this mod is the value that ship have, which, unlike standard soase is absolutely trek cannon, as, if I remember the galaxy class took 5 years to build, and the FED had only about 5-6 of this class built.

Kirks enterprise a Heavy Cruiser at the time was more then a match for the Miranda class a Science Vessel... however the Constitutions were mothballed and the Mirands kept getting upraded over the next century...i think its safe to assume that the Mirandas in SOA are the upgraded ones.

The AI stalls at low difficulties as a natural process of the design, vanilla sins included.

It's the predilection for research.  Without the income bonus from the higher difficulties, the idiot has a bad habit of pushing fleet research it can't afford to fill, nuking it's income and flat lining before it even gets trade up.

The more expensive things are, the worse this hits home.  The only real difference in this aspect is that the balance between frigates and "capitals" has been changed.  The AI is utterly incapable of grasping that an Ambassador can't kill a few Vor'chas by itself.

^ but ofc, I'd never distribute that stuff, I work on teh project reality BF2 mod, and thus I've a deep seated hatred of people screwing with my work then distributing it without my permission - its your intellectual property.
