Thes guys are right... should be able to host your own beginner games which you will enjoy and learn more from than getting stomped by people who know how to play.
Also, I hope you can understand that the player base is a lot better quality people than you think at this point. What you have to understand is that it takes a long time to get a game going. People come and go in lobbies for what seems like forever... some are looking for a stacked game that can make their record look good, others have too high of a ping to another player and leave, other people don't believe any game should ever be played without a team using exclusively the three most high powered demigods and if you're playing someone other than these three, they will leave or threaten to leave if you don't change.
So you finally get a game going and assuming you don't have someone drop, or lag, or whatever... you might have the greatest time ever playing a video game.
But theres a catch. I'm not a competitive guy, and I'll join the weaker looking team just to make it easier to get the game going if I have too, but even I'm taken over by an uncontrolable rage when I end up with someone who doesn't know how to play at all on my team. Even though I'm a decent player, I'll get yelled at if I've got a pro on my team if I fail to do something perfectly so I know how it feels, but I can't help myself... don't know what it is about this game that brings out the worst in us sometimes.
Its not all our fault though. I'm happy to have a "noob" on my team if he's willing to listen to my helpful tips (orders and instructions actually) and has played a decent amount of time offline to learn the basics. Neither of these usually end up being true and after wasting our time trying to help bring someone into the community this person will rage quit without saying anything and we'll be left feeling like assholes.
So we try and explain politely to you beginners in the lobby that you need to find a noob game or start your own and guess what the response usually is? "F#&$ You!" So yeah... most hosts will usually just boot you with little or no explanation.
Anyway, read some strategy guide, join noob games, and save replays so you can learn how to play and hopefully you'll be one of us some day, screaming at people that they're god damned noobs
