Yes AOE stuns are better, but I mean all around: grasp costs only one skill point and does insane damage and heals AND has no stun immunity. Sure you can get super AOE stuns later in the game, but this is from level 5 onward.

AoE stuns are rarely better becasue they're not instant(apart from Sedna).

a good ooze ub who uses sigil is such a pain to play, especially when theyre good.  id say only a good rook can counter them at the highest echelons of play.  a good assassin oak can take him if he pen kites well, and if the ub is sloppy.  but ya, ub is the shit. 

why do you guys think a good rook counters a good ub?

a good ub will just enter the farm with a creep or minion wave and that negates tower damage completely...
hammer slam has a very long cooldown, you won't get more than 2 off before he chews through 8k of your health, whilst you only dealt 4k damage, and ofc ooze takes off a huge % of your auto attack damage. not to mention every time you hammer slam after level 15 he gets acclimation activated.
plus ub is 10x faster than rook, much more mobile around the map for capping flags and chasing. if he is killing you and you try to tp, he can grasp, and if you try to fake cast, you will be dead for sure before you get to finish the second cast, unless you started fake casting at FULL hp.

as far as i am concerned there is NO counter to a good ub player, except maybe planting a feeder on his team, hence starting this thread

Sedna can fight UB given a fairly large set of conditions... Not end game though.

Towers don't hit him because you can't control who the towers target. Unless the UB player is an idiot, and he doesn't sue a creepw ave...

First of all, if a rook can capture an enemy portal, then that team (his enemies) really really suck bad.

Secondly, Nobody is that stupid and suicidal to go inside 8 towers alone, and die.

3rd,  4,6, or 8 towers, whatever, when you are rook that means you will get ganged by all 3 enemy DGs. (assuming this is 3v3)

Last but not least, the beast player (assuming not a noob) will wait until u are vulnerable (out of your tower-farm) and attack you, which means you will die.

And dont tell me a rook can stay in his farm forever.

Grasp is a pretty good omgwtfhaxx skill

But I do agree, he is overall 3rd best for Cataract. He's dependent on monk splitting, he doesn't have an escape option, and doesn't have a good way to ninja-cap portals. Even though he kicks Oak's ass around the map for a good portion of the game.

He also doesn't have any good "team" abilities. Ooze is the closest he gets. Compare to Surge of Faith, Divine Justice, Shield III or Pentitence.

He's a lot weaker on Levi though, in some ways. Spit won't get kills because of the massive regen on that map, though it makes BotS almost unneccassary at the same time since Plenor + MPS flag is all the mana you need on that map. Oak is a lot weaker on Levi too because he levels slower and also because ninja-porting isn't quite as big of a deal.

Still. Level 15 Acclimation. He beats Erebus and Oak from then on :-/

UB is Overpowered, like it or not. He definitely needs a nerf, since a looooong time ago.

I wish I had the replay to show it to you guys, with the best damn UB i have ever seen in DG. It was me, DiceAreEvil and Playgroundlegend, vs Patz and 2 other pugs. Patz (enemy) was UB. I was erebus, and my allies were Oak and Regulus. The other 2 players were pretty useless, so me and my team were litterally farming them, getting a lot of kills. However, Patz (The UB), was getting kills, by spamming sigils early on, did a lot of farming and outleveled everyone by 3-5 levels.

When he hit level 15 he got Acclimation of course. From that point we just couldnt kill him, so my regulus ally said: I will get Ashkandor. and so he did get it. I was watching as he took a tower in 10 sec with just auto attack, and the nice yellow number 4xtimes critical hit, so he had it for sure.

The UB was pure ooze build, no spit at all. Full stats, full ooze, 1 point in grasp, and inner beast and Acclimation.

By the time he was level 20 we were levels 15-16. So he decides to go take our portal just like that. My team sent away the other 2 guys from the right portal, as the UB was going in the left portal. He captured it and stayed there, destroying towers. I go to fight him with my erebus, he took all my 7k hp and i took his 2k out of 9k (without sigils) max hp. I go to crystal, while I request assistance from my team.

We all go to kill him, he doesnt run. We fight him 3v1 spamming Bite, Penitence, Surge of Faith, Mines and insane AA from Regulus. He almost killed my regulus ally but Oak with his shield saved him. Reg goes to crystal and comes back. The UB was NOT sigiled, he had 3000/9000 hp. He starts to run, but we were already on his tail. I caught up to him, with Bat swarm, Bite immediately. Oak goes behind me and starts Penitence, surge spamming. Reg caught up, and we were all 3 hitting him with low hp. Reg had full Maim, Max range, Max Angel fury, +Penitence+Bite=He was insanely slowed.

We were at the 2 side towers at that point. All hitting him as hard as we could. He hits a sigil, goes to 5k hp. His max HP was 16k, but we had hit him hard.

He managed to go up until his crystal with 300-400 Hp. He COULD NOT kill him. No matter what.

What was happening is that he got Bulwark of the ages, (saving gold probably) along with Acclimation. So even just a hit from my regulus ally (over 500 damage) was enabling his Acclimation, or a bite or Penitence. His Acclimation skill was always on, along with Bulwark of the Ages, along with Groffling Warplate +other armors. He had about 90% damage mitigation.

And the 40% was just from Acclimation. To make a long story short, we lost, as his allies decided to help him in a minute or so, they teamed up, and took out citadel down. Good Game.

I wish you could see the replay, see my team play PERFECT, only to lose to 1 enemy demigod. My team<UB.
