I played this game up to around level 20, it's a lot of fun but I think the game is just too random for the challenges presented in single player. One round you'll end up with only moves and bad defense, another you'll have 40+ damage from a single character. Although there's a huge depth of tactical gameplay in the game, the random system just doesn't do it justice.
I finished the campaign myself, and agree with what you said. But this is a card game and all of them have the luck factor, which you just try to minimize by the careful selection of cards. More cards and better cards you have, more choice you have and more it matters. However, the way you play it tactically matters a lot too. Of all new card games around i find this one the most balanced and most fun to play.

edit: Only played for about 2 hours, but this is a pretty fun game. I just wonder what the endgame will be like and if it will be worthwhile to continue on or not.
