You can quote which ever answer that help you in your reply. Use the " icon.
Also you can use the "thumb up" icons on a respond to give him/her karma points. For reference, refer to screenshot below.

You can also edit the title of your post... to something like "Solved: How to create a new fence, thanks T Paul Scroggins". I'm assuming you were referring to that post. You can also give him karma by clicking on the thumbs up on the bottom of the response box involved, as I just did for this nice post.

I don't know how to edit my post to change the title.
1) Left click on the paper and pen button at the bottom of your post.
2) Then, change the title in the upper image. The lower image is the original post you're changing.
3) Then click the submit button at the bottom of that upper image.
