Ships Occupying Same Space Bug!

It has been mentioned in a couple other post already, but I thought I would give it a post all it's own so it doesn't get lost.

This bug has happened in the two games I have started since Beta 3E came out. It seems that for some reason or another, ships do not attack, but instead occupy the same space.

This not only happens to the human player, but also when AI's attack each other. In the game I was just playing, there was a stack of 31 Arcean and Altarian ships. They are at war with each other but there ships do not attack, they just keep piling up in one spot. There were more ships on the way when I decided to quit the game. (I have it saved if anyone from SD wants to see)

I have only seen one other person on the forum notice this besides me. Anyone else see this yet?

Kinda makes playing a game right now pointless. I wonder if SD will notice this before the weekend is over? It sure would be nice if they did, not that they are under any obligation to do so. I was planning on playing a lot over Thanksgiving break. Oh well.....

Happens all the time .. with space monsters and battles. funny thing though is if attack transports/constructors/planets or space stns then battle happens, but not other warships. so now just use it to lock up enemy ships while i go around destroying things.

jms LOL

sometimes if you buy ships from AI, the ships you get occupy the same space as other AI ships

Yep, I've seen this and not sure what causes this but it is very very VERY annoying and it's being worked on. It messes up the AI.

Should have looked at this post first... I mentioned this problem on another post. I saw the same thing it seemed to start afer I started seeing pirates. Not sure if that means anything or not, but I thought it wouldn't hurt a mentioning. But At least I know I am not the only one. :D

Had the same thing happen in a game I just started.
Some Ai ships could not be attacked.
Some of my ships could not be attacked.

I had not met any space pirates.

Has ANYONE been able to attack AI Warships? Besides colony and transports? Every game I have played since 3E does not allow me to attack! It just stacks mine and the enemy ship.

When can we expect a fix for this? It kinda makes playing the game useless right now for me.

Thanks.

I have the same problem as you -- the game has become very frustrating for me, because I can't attack or counterattack the AI fleets. Everything else is great, but this bug is killing me. :/

I have been able to attack AI ships, but it seems to be really random as to whether there's a battle or a stack. As to it getting fixed, I'd bet on it, they've been good about getting rid of those bugs.

I wasn't trying to rush them. Just wondering if this is something that will be fixed in a "minor" update, or if this will wait till they release Beta 3F.

One reason I'm kinda hoping it's soon is there was some good stuff released in 3E, but it is hard to tell what effects it has on the game, when a major portion such as space combat doesn't work.

And, there were a couple posts by Brad asking what we thought of 3E, but it's hard to say with this bug.

Again, sorry if I sound like I'm hasseling them. It's just that I have more time to play then usuall right now, so this is the time I'll end up making more posts. Not that any of them have to be taken care of this instant....., but in the next couple of hours would be nice! ;p

In regards to some of my above posts, I was also trying to figure out is this was an isolated problem or if this was happening to everyone all the time. Because it is just me, and if it isn't happening to everyone, maybe there is something I can do to prevent it.

Still not sure on this....

I think it was in a different thread but somebody said that you can attack with the keyboard. I tried it out and if you manuver your ship next to the enemy and press the keyboard arrow in the direction of the enemy your ship will attack. At least it is a reasonable workaround in the short term. But the downside is still that the other AI's aren't that smart, and you end up with some pretty messy traffic jams. :)
