Can I get the beta today by buying Drengin.net?

It may seem like a dumb question, but I am seeing what seems to be conflicting information about whether the beta is still available for download. If I buy Drengin.net today, can I download the GalCiv beta right after.

I need something to bandage the wound Moo3 has left in my soul!

Not presently. Right now it's just a matter of waiting until the release which will be in about 27 days.

Will we be able to purchase and download the release product prior to the packaged product being available in stores?

I guess that all depends on how quickly after release date (3/25) the put it on their shelves. I think Brad (Frogboy, CEO of Stardock) tried to get the publisher to let him put the download up a day or two before release, but the publisher objected.

I just bought Drengin.net last night (~12 hours ago), and am now happily playing the GalCiv beta! :D (Although you can't download it using the newer Stardock Central software, you can (as of 12 hours ago) using the Drengin Game Manager - and when you first sign up for drengin.net, the software link they give you is to the DGM!) If you want the beta, you had best purchase drengin.net quickly - the company clearly doesn't want people downloading it anymore and will probably fix this soon...

I haven't had time to play GalCiv much so far, but it definitely seems fun (unlike moo3) and a far more proper follow up to moo2. This is the 2nd time in a week that I've discovered a soon-to-be-released title coming from a relatively unknown software maker that looks like it's going to be a heck of a lot better than a similar game just released by one of the big boys (the other was X2: The Threat and Freelancer - while FL isn't nearly the total vacuum of fun that Moo3 is, X2 looks like it'll be much better than FL in almost every way...).
