Games to play while waiting for GalCiv...

I returned MOO3 for my preorder of GalCiv. With the extra cash I also picked up Age of Wonders 2 ($20) and am enjoying it very much. Highly recommended for any fantasy fans who also enjoyed games such as Master of Magic and Warlords.

I highly recommend playing The Corporate Machine. That game just rocks. Great job, Frogboy, hope GalCiv is everything you promise.

What's the latest patch for TCM? 1.2 is what I have but I heard there was higher versions... couldn't find them.

My personal favourite (and I wonder if Galciv can beat this ?) is the holy Sid's Alpha Centauri. I always return to it like an old friend (or a bad habit ?).
Playing it right now as a matter of fact :)

I thought I wanted to play the old SNES version of Civ, but I couldn't be bothered to hook up the SNES. :P The AI would have bothered me, I'm sure.

In the same genre as Galciv for the time to pass until the Gold release of Galciv I play (read: reinstalled): Moo2, Space Empires IV and Imperium Galactica 2. Of course only IF I have time left, because priorities are Galciv Beta, and indeed TCM.

I just dug up a couple of games to stay in the Space Start mood : MOO1 and Birth of Federation :D
SE4 is a good candidate too, but there'stoo much micromanagement for me !
MOO2 always left me unsatisfied : "Wot, my ultimate Galactic empire has a 12-ships fleet ?" :D :D

12 ship fleet for an ultimate empire? I normally ended up with 60 + doomstars by the end of a victory on a huge galaxy... actually once I had 155 doomstars on a tiny class galaxy ::laugh:: Oh boy i'm going to have to install that now.. Now you have done it!!

Oddly enough I have been playing a pc version of ms pac man from www.jrok.com
A very good version, Highly recommended and freeware to boot.

When I am not playing that I have been playing Tiberian Sun on and off. I don't want to play myself out on space strategy before the release date......

It might amuse you that, the very first time in MOO2 that I dared to enter the Other Dimension, I was so concerned about what might be on the other side I sent along a force of approximately 130 Doom Stars. Needless to say, I don't wait nearly that long anymore unless I'm just being silly and accumulating population/tech points when the game was decided long ago.

I downloaded Armada 2525 Deluxe Edition from The Underdogs and am having a fun time replaying an old favorite.

I love watching the planetary attacks hoping I have enough missles, lasers to thwart the slow space invader like attack of the enemies. Fun.

I installed BOTF, Alpha Centauri and IG2. I seemed to be more involved with IG2. I'm getting a little burnt with the endless messages but having fun. I'm glad that I'm having no problems running them on XP. I used to run them on 98.

I thought I would clarify my previous post. The messages I refer to are the ones in the IG2 campaign I'm playing.
