Beta test this winter?

i read over on the galciv2 site that those who preorder will get a beta this winter. can i get some confirmation on this?

some people I have been talking to would like to know though on how the beta will work. will it be for pre-orders only or will it be open to these forums only or how will it be released.

Most generally our betas are only available via download to users who have preordered the game (online--we've never done a 'preorder box' at retail), but there are no NDAs or anything on them.

BTW, the top post of the following thread https://forums.sinsofasolarempire.com/index.aspx?AID=133080 states that the public beta will be open to users who have preordered.

And you will download the beta through Stardock Central (see https://www.galciv2.com/Downloads.aspx ). And I guess that SDC will be available on the download page of this site before the beta starts
