Silly Icon Location Question

Hey Gang,

I am new to this customization stuff but loving it (is there something wrong with me upgrading my laptop to 1Gb just so I can run all these toys? .. hehe)

Anyway ... on to my question ....

I have my icons parked on my desktop somewhere other than the left side of the screen .. when I relog they are where I left them but as things load .. like FX .. they always resort themselves to the left side of the screen ... DOH.. is there something I'm missing here?

Any advice is appreciated.

Place your icons where you want them. Then right click on the desktop and make sure that ONLY "align to grid" is checked (or having nothing checked).

Now log out of your account, and log back in. They should be in the same place. Now rebooting/restarting/etc shouldn't affect your icons... in theory.

IconX may mess with the icons, I really don't know because I don't use that program.

If this doesn't work, try disabling each customization program one by one until the culprit is found. I hope you work this out !

(I run windowblinds, Cursor XP, icon packager, and sometimes object dock, and none of those relocate my icons, so I am fairly sure none of those are the issue )
