Tax on direct download purchase?

In budgeting for purchasing GalCiv next week (woohoo! 
) and thinking about going with the direct download from Stardock, it occurred to me to wonder whether there will be tax charged on top of the $44.95 price or whether that price is all you way (not counting any potential S&H of course)?
In a somewhat related question, it is possible to take this downloaded file and burn your own CD if you wanted to save the 5 bucks for getting one shipped to you? After all, as I understand it, we won't be getting an actual printed manual if we buy direct and get the CD shipped, so if you have the capability to burn your own CD it doesn't seem as if you'd need to have an official one.
