SECOND SERVER ON-LINE

Okay, we are running a bit ahead of schedule. The second high speed server is now on-line.

If you want to use it to download, go to tools->settings->connection and switch to the California server.

Here's what it would look like:

I'm currently downloading GalCiv from home at around 200K a sec on my cable modem.

Yup 150-160K here (dropping to 40K occasionally). Much better!

i'm getting aboput 45-50K on my cable, which is better than the 1st server. but my connection has been kinda sluggish all evening so i doubt it's stardock's fault.

still means > 2hrs for the media files. :p

Mine fluctuates alot but I do see 45-50 every once in a while. Just dropped the extra cash to get it tonight (i've been wanting The Corporate Machine anyway). Kudos to Stardock for a very cool experience.

I'm averaging about 50 kb/sec over cable after cancelling and moving to the California server. It looked to be averaging about 25-30 kb/sec before then. (I left it running for an hour while I got some much needed exercise, so I didn't check the D/L speed until I got back.)

I can't begin to tell you how disappointed I am that you couldn't have held off making the game available until AFTER my philosophy presentation. Fortunately, I have enough strength of character to take the occasional lousy mark in stride.

I don't know about that. In my case, I am just a bit to embarassed at the acts of stupidity I committed in my youth. Hopefully, I won't make those mistakes again. Of course, it is now past midnight, and I just finished downloading a bit ago. Do I fire up GalCiv, risking the "just one more turn" addiction or play it wise and go to bed now?
