As a bit of an "off topic" topic, this is thread is one of the best I've seen - bar none (that means at the top of a fictious list). I know there's a cliché out there about youth and daring being overcome by guile and deceit (someone will help out to get it right), but this thread just justifies that - in a positive manner. Gamer fun... what more do you want?

Started with a little know game called Sentinel Worlds and have been hooked ever since.

47 here. I still have my original Tactics 2.

After graduating from Catholic school in '69, I grew my hair long, bought a guitar and played rock and roll.

People thought my obsession with wargames and miniatures was odd.

After a stint in the business world, I grabbed my guitar again and am having the time of my life. I never did cut my hair or stopped playing games. Never will.

The age spectrum on this forum is fascinating.

Funny you mention Les Paul. My first and only choice of guitar is a custom Les Paul.

Hadn't played much at all for about 25+ years when suddenly last summer I got the urge and bought an Epiphone Les Paul. (the black one like Eric Clapton plays). Not quite a Gibson but good enough for an old dude like me to fiddle around with in the house.

Must be a second childhood thing because I had my mid-life crisis years ago.

Well I was playing Galciv already on OS/2 and now again today at the age of 43. Participating in the Beta was great and I enjoyed it really.

Not really. Funerals are business. Serious people do serious business, loosers have lousy funerals. Playing GalCiv is good for your health.

I must agree that I would not mind shaving 10-15 years off, but preparing for funeral is not all that bad, even fun. I would like to be ready for life after me. You know life will continue, right? Oh, I will turn 33 this year. I do not want my daughter to worry about old dead guy when the time comes.

So far my advanced age has not help me to out reason the A.I. So much for wisdom.....
