Have an idea or a change to the game you'd like to see? Let us know and we'll take a look at it.

Suggestions should be things that don't fundamentally change the scope of the game or require immense levels of development time.

We'll be monitoring this thread.

1) Add a list of all discovered planets and the ability to filter by class (eg. display those above 15). Should also display range to closest own colony.
This makes it easier to identify 'close' colonizable worlds.

2) Replace left/right arrows on all filter choices with dropdowns.
Its anoying to click, click, click to get to a filter rather than click and select.

3) Add a proper scroll bar on the research topics list.
Just like on the planet list.

Thanks
Saline

Here's some more

How about an evasion bonus for scouts, freighters, and fighters? Wouldn't smaller ships be quite a bit more agile then the larger lumbering ones? Maybe give them a chance to avoid being destroyed so they could scadadle.

It's probably already been said before but I didn't feel like reading thru 603 posts to find out.

1. I'd like the ability to rename planets.
2. I'd like to see starbases topped out at 1 + the number of systems owned in the sector.

Great game, keep up the good work!

If it's already been suggested, sorry, but I'd like to see more things saved in the save game. Someone else mentioned the music volume. In addition to that, I'd like to see the current magnification and buttons selected on the mini-map and the current sorting order of the planet and technology screens saved.

Should be pretty easy to do and would get rid of a minor annoyance when loading a saved game.

When you are trading and the other side does not accept the deal let them put in a counter proposal even if its their bottom line. At the very least do not remove the original proposal because its driving me nuts having to reselect the same item up to 10 times to find out what the AI is willing to pay. Please try and make this labourious but vital process a bit easier for the poor old player.

When you are dealing with individual planets (ie production), have it so the map (and the white box on
the minimap) moves to that planet so you can see where it is...

Yes, I agree with the previous post. When I'm doing my end-of-turn production, I'd MUCH rather see the mini-map so I know where the planet is than the list of planets in that system.

put a terrorist option: hire some guys to attack your ennemy.
ability to corrupt the senat to gain more power
ability to kill enemy leader thru espionage

forgot one thing ability to hide your millitary power but dont allow it on AI cause it's going to be gay then

I don't know if this has been suggested already, but if not, here goes:

Dear lords, give me a 'cancel all' for a given project.

In the late game after you've got most of the Omega projects, the last thing you want to be doing is paying maintenance on a lot of stuff. Going through planet by planet to cull the now unneeded social projects is about as much fun as jamming needles into your eyes.

On my machine, with the latest patched O/S, the game still crashes a bit too frequently. Today, I found that both my autosave and previous autosave games are corrupt. My last "manually" save game is 100 turns earlier. So, this game is a wash.

Can you give me access to the previous ten autosave games?

When clicking cancel for influence in the diplomacy screen, this should NOT also cancel the credits part.

Also please provide more random events and a slider to define how much of these we want.

Another one. The UI relies too much on the mouse. [Enter] should default to one of the choices in dialog popups (really pretty standard).

Just underneat the "Launch Ship" button in the planet view there's an empty space that would be *perfect* for a "Launch ALL Ships" button. It would be good for those times when you need to launch large numbers of ships (quite often on Gigantic).

What I'd like to see is more UP issues because the other issues are getting boring and you can't really make new ones you can make variations but not new ones. Also I'd like to have an option so in the setup menu you can set how often the UP meets. Also more politcal parties would be nice. Now this is something I'd like to see but most likely will never get in but I'll say it anyway. Later in the game control of the Senate really doesn't matter much except if your doing really bad. I mean if your winning or doing okay you easily have enough resources to overcome the penalties of not controlling the Senate. What I would like to see is things like bills. Like if you pass a tax cut bill you lose like 300bc but your morale and standing improve. Or if you pass a bill giving you the power to declare war for a ceratin number of years so if you don't control the Senate in the future you can declare war without them. Or like a defense bill which would increase military production and courage of troops. The only thing is you have to have the Senate vote on them. So the Senate can reject your bill. Making control of the Senate more important. And you could make settings so that like different political parties vote differently on certain bills. So if it's a defense bill the War Party will more likly vote for it than the Pacifists will. This would truly add a cool aspect to the game.

Thanks for Reading,

One thing I asctually hate very much is when creating a new game each emipre's staring location is very unbalanced. For example some race may start at a corner of the star map and only have 2 or 3 star systems near by where there is no way of expansion until later with the help of a starbase or new tech. This puts that race at too much of a disadvantage. They usually gets taken out early in the game. I strongly recommand a more evenly distrbution of star cluster for all races. This allows more ballanced game play and one race won't have too much advantage over others.

Try this have 6 star cluster of about 10-20 star systems each(depend on galaxy size) and set each race staring location in each of the 6 clusters. Then scater around some smaller cluster around the map or in the center. It dosen't have to be this way at least don't start any race at a corner with only 2 star systems. Matter of fact I the player have started the game with only 2 star system near by. :( I simply start a new game but you see that just wasted my time. >:(

One last thing make the york stroger they are too weak to be of any challange even at high intel setting.

Different galaxy shapes! Like a multi arm galaxy with arms joinign at the core. Ability to choose 2-3 arms on smaller sizes, and 2-4 on larger map sizes

When I send colony ships out, and the last quality 15 planet is taken, I would like to be able to transfer my population on the colony ships that never found a home to one of my planets before I disband the ship. It seems a shame to disband the population aboard too... almost criminal. I mean, they're already sad because they did not get a colony of their own. Why add insult to injury and disband the people as well? This way, colony ships could continue to be useful to transport population between friendly planets.

- Add a "locate uninhabited planets" feature. A screen similar to that in Master of Orion 2 would be very helpful.

- Add a "locate resources" feature, and a resource summary screen. On a large map, you really have to write down the resource locations in a separate file.

- Add a "go to nearest anomaly" feature for survey ships. You'd also have to make sure 2 survey ships aren't headed towards the same resource.

- Allow the user to adjust the overall tech cost based on galaxy size. On a 24x24 map, the first few techs should only have a small increase, but the later techs should have a huge increase.

- Add a full-screen version of the right status window, allowing more information to be viewed at a time. This matters most for 24x24 maps. In general, there's still to much micromanagement required for a 24x24 map.

What about set the number of resources at the start of the game (for example : ultra-poor, poor, average, rich, ultra-rich) ? :)

In Civ 3 and CTP 2 you have an option to select a research goal and then you will automatically take a research path till you get to the goal, Would this be a good idea for Gal Civ?
Has anyone already written a routine outside of the game to do this?
Does it seem to others that the whole research info handling could be improved?
When you get the screen saying what you've just researched there is no click link on the improvements you have just researched showing exactly what their effects are in the game, this would help me a lot...
Maybe I'm missing something..

All of GC can be played by mouse (so i just keep my mouse on my chair arm rest)EXCEPT invading a solorsystem.(Witch now I have to hunt for my key board.)

PLEASE make a mouse click tab.

Thank you.

P.S. Also defending it.
