Community Challenge: St Patrick's Day Icons

A little bit of holiday fun

https://forums.wincustomize.com/index.aspx?AID=145741

March 17th is St. Patrick's day, a day most often commemorated by corned beef and cabbage, green beer, short little red-headed guys with funny hats and all sorts of people wearing buttons that say "Kiss me, I'm Irish!"  Well, we thought it might be fun to get into the spirit of the upcoming holiday here at WinCustomize with a mini-contest of sorts, something to get everyone thinking a little more "green".  Here's what you have to do to participate:

  • Create five St. Patrick's Day themed icons for the following shortcuts:
    • My Computer
    • My Network Places
    • My Documents
    • Recycle Bin
    • Internet Explorer
  • Bundle up the icons into a zip file and submit them to the "Misc Icons" category here at WinCustomize
  • Make a post to this forum thread for the community challenge with preview images of all five of your icons and a link to your gallery entry.

The cut-off is Saturday, March 17th.  The following week, site moderators will pick the three best sets and the winners will receive a free 1 year WinCustomize subscription (or 1 year extension to a current sub).

This is meant to just be a bit of fun for our icon artists.  If this community challenge is successful, we hope to do more in the future.

The luck of the Irish be with you!

17th March...hmmm...won't be here, I'll be in an Irish bar in Amsterdam consuming large amounts of Caffreys (can't stand Guinness)

Ooooh, Caffreys... drink one for me!  It's been about 5 years since I had one of those!

What's the deal with all the Irish beer drinking stereotypes. I'm Irish, and I've never drank an ounce of beer in my life. This should be a fun contest. I'll see if I can find some time in my day to come up with something good. It's been a LONG time since I've done anything, this'll be a good return.

This is a great idea; something to put a little spark into the creative community. I hope there are more to come. It seems obvious but I just want to make sure, these are icons as in actual .ico files?

I'm Irish too and i reckon there wont be many people eating corned beef and cabbage either, don't get me wrong, there will be some, but i wouldn't call it a staunchly followed tradition on Paddys Day lets just say!

This wee competition sounds good though, and thanks to WC for acknowledging it for all us Irish people on WC. Incidentally RPGFX is the first Irish person I've come across here in 5 years, surely there has to be more, anyone? Anywhere? Hallo...calling all green people...

For the purposes of this little contest, I'll take either (or both if you're so inclined)
