Kzinti Empire - offical empire thread

You have dared to enter the lair of the most ferocious predators in the galaxy!

It is the ulitmate destiny of the Kzinti to conquer the other civilizations of the galaxy, subjugate and enslave any who may prove useful to us, and devour the rest. The Fanged God has ordained that this is how it will be.

In just 26 octals of days (7 months or so...Kzinti count in base 8), the Kzinti Empire rose from obscurity, to #1 on the Metaverse. With the blessings of the Fanged God, we have remained dominant for 100s more octals of days since that auspicious day.  We leapt past the other empires, and our mighty domain now encompasses over 32 million more light years than the second most powerful empire.  The most recent Galactic Map data shows that we have subjugated over 45% of the galaxy.  Many warriors from the old and dying empires have joined us, to avoid being eaten along with the rest.  We hunger to establish indefinite supremacy over all the inferior sentient species...

We have also been #1 on the AltMeta for over 3 years running. The Empire grows more powerful with each passing day as new conquests are won, and more warriors join us in our inevitable rise to rule the galaxy!

The Kzinti are a species of bipedal space-faring feline predators, who love nothing more than conquest and battle. Created by sci-fi writer Larry Niven, the Kzinti have had many stories written about them, most notably in the Man-Kzin Wars series of books. They have also shown up in the Star Trek universe, and a number of other realities.

"Kzinti flesh has a very strong and pungent taste. The weak among us are devoured by their litter-mates within a few moons of birthing. Only the swiftest and most ferocious of us survive to their first naming-day. Those not fit to survive will never live to perpetuate their inferior bloodlines. This is the natural law of the galaxy." - Kzinti Warrior

"The meaning of life is the hot blood of your prey on your tongue, the meat that rends beneath your teeth, the corpse of your enemy left in the sun for the carrion eaters to finish, your defeated foe groveling in submission before you. That is what life is. We are the Kzinti, and we stronger, swifter, wiser, and more ferocious than any other race ever was or will be." - Kzinti philosopher

If your claws can grasp it, then it is rightfully yours. - Kzinti proverb

A salute to all those heroic t'kzintar who have made this empire a resounding success. Our conquests continue and the galaxy will never know peace!

Nice game in any case. :congrat:   And as you said, good to eliminate the things that dont work.  I think I've got my Swindle strategies honed to about as sharp as they can be.  My latest huge all-abundant game should come in at about 625k, or if I took it to 7 years about 650k.  About time for me to finally try a gigantic all-abundant and see if I can come close to 1 million!

Cats.....frightining??? There so fluffy and cute.....and they taste nice too.

Another penguin?  The clan keeps growing!

Blah, I'm still seemingly unable to get the Kzinti ships to appear as an apperance option when starting a metaverse game.

Does anyone have any idea of why this is happening and how to fix it?

Metaverse games have a protected set of files that they use, they don't cross-reference.  You'll have to put the ship designs into your My Games/Galactic Civilizations/ Metaverse folder

Thanks Silver! :)

I just finished year 6 of my current huge all-abundant Swindle game and it came in at 638,750.  I think I will take it to year 7, and end up with about 660k!   :hot:

so ppl know, if the designs use mods such as Kryo's Hull mod, they will NOT work in MV games.

My brains esploded :dur: Sorry I couldn't resist. Anyways I've been making plans for a Meta empire when GC3 comes out. I've been thinking of the theme being evil pokemon.

Just finished my latest game, and here are the stats:

huge all-abundant, 8 years, suicidal, 505 habitable planets

score 662,500  (society 120497, tech 80515, econ 339400, mil 275495)

full military starbase array with 4,158 warships, economic boom in year three until end of game

max income: 1.17 million bc/turn gross, 1.0 million net

population: 10 trillion

I did a few things differently this time, like building the fully maxed-out starbase array and putting my tech slider to 100% once everything was built (8,639 output at end of game) to go for a more balanced score.  I had research structures on any bonus tile 300% or greater.  Everything else was farms, virtualy reality, or stock markets.

Here's my military graph:

Soon I'll do a gigantic all-abundant! :D

Great Game KP!! . There may be something to that tech score after seeing what Mag did on TA with it and you had about 4x my normal tech score for that type of game, as I usually kill all tech once the tree is done. May have to to change that :)

Haven't they said there will be no MV in GC3?

Thanks DA. :) I've been playing my games with a more balanced approach to score for a while, and looking at my recent scores on huge maps, I think I can be competetive with the top scorers in the game when I do an gigantic all-abundant.  I think my approach to building ships for the starbase array helps too.  From my military graph you can see I dont do an economy-shattering final upgrade, but instead build ships consistently throughout, staying above -500bc (and below 20k bc of course), to keep pumping out the tech even after the tree is done. Throughout the game, all my planets use "focus" for either tech or social.

From what I have read I think they're leaning strongly towards not having a MV for CG3.  I dont know if that decision is "final" though.  Maybe one of the devs willl chime in.

from what i read in the "Future of Galactic Civilizations" thread; it seems that they are enabling at least some form of multiplayer; since I'm sure there will be at least some form of ranking or leader board; it should be easy enough to set up "factions" or "empires" as such; they will just be different than the current incarnation found for GC II.  More a loose confederation of players than a singular unit.

Were there any Kzinti that had fur like white siberian tigers?  That would be cool.

It's good that there's going to be something at least....maybe a Klingon House will rise after all. :hot:

Not in the Known Space universe that I can recall.  But it would seem reasonable that you would have Kzinti of various patterns and colors adapted to different environments....like the large cats of earth.  One Ren-Faire I went to a couple years ago had a bunch of white tigers.

Thanks Noctilucus!   There was a bit of luck involved too with an economic boom and a great starting setup.   I was able to out-colonize the AI on suicidal for once. :congrat:

Inciting war already, when the empires dont even exist yet.  I would have expected differently from the Confederation. ;)
