Unfair

Played a game where an alien evil was uncovered on a nearby planet, Was waned to destroy the colony as it would get more poerful over time.

So I buuilt a fleet of ships and the sharks kept killing them.
So I built battleships and the sharks killed those too!
The other planet eventually won the game! no fair! The sharks beat the best ships I can build! :sniff!:

Yep, the space sharks are very nasty and very hard to beat. Someone posted an idea to lead them to the evil alien and see they might cause him damage.

A little good news is that you don't often see the space sharks.

I fine my percentage is like about 80% of the games space sharks arrive.

Is there any difference if you attack them or if they attack you ships in orbit?

The Antimatter Missles work decently vs. the sharks...if you happen to have advanced that far technologically. Sharks seem to vary in power too. ;p

Pretty funny here :)
I had more voting power then all the others, together with the Drengins we voted for the Alterians to have the space zoo, hehe (extra cash is handy but I had plenty, so I don't take the risk then)

The next turn they already broke free!! LOL
Eventually like 8 turns l8er I saw 1 spaceshark which I finished off with a few defenders 1 battleship and 1 battle hammer. (174hp hehe)

But those sharks probably gave the Alterians a hard time :) (little dip in military strength for a short while)

I have several ways of dealing with space monsters, including the sharks.

1. If its early in the game, I send a ship to where it/they are and get the monster to follow the ship, usually past AI starbases and fleets. This takes the ship out of action for much of the game, and it needs to be manually moved so it doesn't get caught by the monster(s) or get too far ahead of them.
2. If given enough time each of my starbases gets an Interdiction module which stop monsters dead in their tracks. Just finished a game where I had 2 starbases in one sector, both had Interdictors and Pirates were stopped dead in their tracks - the Interdictor effect stacks. :)
3. If I've got nothing better to do, and have the production, Starfighters seem the most effective at wearing the monsters down. I've seen a Starfighter take 28 off a monster :), but a Ranger only take 3 off several turns before. :sniff!:

And here I am in my third game and yet to see one! Mind you, one game I didn't see anyone until I could get transports out to 4 sectors because I was stuck in a corner with no other systems around for 4 sectors. (That game didn't last long.)

I guess I'd better be ready for the averages to catch up with me! :)

Come to think of it, I needed the cash so I put the zoo in my hood, not a good idea I guess! :notsure:

Maybe in one of the upcoming versions. ;)

That's one of the things I like about this game. The humour and the fact that it is easy to mod.

So a Dr Dolittle tech could be created.
