Lol.

it has higher requirements of the PC than the game.

My PC isnt fast enough so it doesnt smoothly play when I have a few apps started (the same as when I play the game). I have to start using my better pc for surfing and more stuff.

Please consider changing the blitting-style option if you arent using the current setting for a very special reason. If I use the auto blitting style instead, it playes fine here. I tried the "DirectDreaw to primary surface" too and that one was smooth too.

For the content...Im not so sure of what I think of it. It could have related to the game more, IMO. Like...ehhm...it could start with a view of the actual game where one gets attacked and then go to the current one. But that's just my 2 cent's worth. :)

Uhmm..the more I look at it the more I like it. It's fine. And there will be many more occations to relate teasers to the game, so it's fine :)

I tried the "DIB-section"-blitting style too, and that one also playes smoothly.

I was just wondering Fredrik could explain what you mean? Is this happeing to anyone else?

How is the movie running, is it droping frames? How fast is your computer? What type of video card do you have? Do you have the latest drivers? How much RAM do you have?? Do you play other Binks fine (like the warcraft3 trailer)?

1. Please consider changing the blitting-style option if you arent using the current setting for a very special reason. If I use the auto blitting style instead, it playes fine here. I tried the "DirectDreaw to primary surface" too and that one was smooth too.

-If this is what I think it is, in bink the reason is we where having trouble running it on some of the machines in the office.

2. "I tried the "DIB-section"-blitting style too, and that one also playes smoothly"

- Could you please explain what you did? did you re bink it or something?

Thanks!

:notsure:

Tested some more blitting-options here... :)

They all works fine, except for the one that you choosed and the "DirectDraw YV12 off-screen" that doesnt play at all. The other RGB-one plays fine.

If I turn on the statistics, your selection gives me:
Framerate obtained: 24.5 (the other selections 29.9)
Sound skips: 7 (the other selections 0)
Percentage spent blitting: 41.9
Slowest framerate is 5.5

I get the best performance with "DirectDreaw to primary surface".

Hmm perhaps time to throw out my P400..

I used the Advanced play in the bink application to change the settings.

I have a Geforce 2 MX400 graphics card with drives that are fairly new.

If ya point me to antother bink-file I'd happily try it.

I'll head off to work now. So I'll try it when I get home. I'll try the one posted here on my workpc too, it's a 1000Mhz with 256 MB ram and geforce4 :)
so I doubt that I'll have any soundskips there LOL

My mind boggles at the many different ways you could use this particular scene in the game.
Imagine the first time another race conquers one of your systems.

Cool movie, but could of been in a higher res, but I take it that would take out more machines :)

Wanted to keep it small for our modem users.

I would submit these kind of things to fileplant and stuff, you might get some more people interseting to the game... people love this type of thing(I did it is cool!) I can't wait to see some more!

Your correct about wanting to keep the size of these files small for downloading, but what about
on the CDs that get shipped? I might be willing to buy a CD version for the better clips and out
shots.

Cheers,
Jack

No probs on my system.

Hopefully you'll be shipping those CD's to Europe as well. If the game becomes available on CD's I'll definetly want to buy them :)

I just tried watching it with three different blitting options chosen, and it seemed the DIB Section was the best looking. The other options i looked at were directdraw and the off screen video memory option. I have no idea if this helps you but if you want i have screenshots of the play summary's for each type. I got the most consistent high frame-rate with the DIB. oh and it was at 32 bit true-color if that matters.

Well, there should be a high res movie download for the final game atleast....If it would be only on the CD, i would fell kindof gipped.
