Trade Route Value N/A

What does it mean when a trade route value goes to N/A?
I know that a trade route will usually disappear when you go to war with another civ, but sometimes I see established routes show a value of N/A. What happened?
Is there anything that can be done to get the route restarted?
or is the only way to kill it an re-establish it?

Thanks

I've seen that also. I've never been able to figure out what caused it. I've always had to kill the route and send another freighter. Seems like it might be a bug.

It happens when a planet is captured. Instead of killing the route, it gives you a zero-value route.

I would agree partly. I have seen this sometimes happen but not always. I have killed the N/A route and restarted a trade route between the same planets. The N/A kicks in again once it reaches the destination planet.

I think it can also happen if the mini-freighter's path is blocked.

Here's another way it can happen. Have 2 stars with only 1 square between them. A trade route between those two stars has a value of zero.

I had seven or eight routes between the same two stars. Every once in a while, one or two of them would go to N/A, with the rest remaining healthy.

Since all the minis take the same route, seems unlikely just ONE of them would get blocked.

been there...

In my case it looked like the mini-freighter was stuck in front of the star system for some reason.

It happens when the race your trading with is at war with another race. They attack the route you get a message "Trade #?? is not longer valid it is considered to risky to continue." Something like that, after that it goes dead.

I am sure it happens a lot of different ways. Be nice onces those little bugs are removed. ;)
