Economic slider bars

Is there any way to freeze one, so I can adjust the other two. For example, I may want to increase military while leaving research fixed. Is it possible?

I dont think that would be possible (nor is there need for it) as the bars denote percentages relative to each other.

No, there isn't, though I really wish there was a way to do it.

akaste: the fact that they are percentages should have no effect on the ability to lock one to adjust the others. If my funding is at 60/20/20, and I want to go to 40/40/20, right now I have to lower the 60 to 40, which results in 40/30/30, since I can't lock the research slider to force the 20 points into social. Then I have to raise social to 40, which takes 5 points from military and research (35/40/25).

I gradually get where I want to be, but it would be much easier if I could temporarily make one of the sliders immobile. It's not that I want to keep the funding at a constant, absolute amount over several turns (which you're right, is impossible with a percentage-based system); I just want the ability to easily take a percentage of funding from one category and direct it, in it's entirety, to another category.

I wish there was a way to freeze them too, or that they were absolute instead of relative. As it is now, I always know what percentages I want to end up with, then fiddle around with the sliders until I get that.

Would be easier if I, when wanting 20% military, 30% social, 50% on research, could adjust it one slider at a time, instead of having to juggle all three.

To me, it feels unnecessarily fiddly and cumbersome now. So mostly, I don't change them often because of that.

...

Another suggestion with regards to sliders - in the early part of the game, I tend to go through all my planets every turn to adjust the propagande slider so that I'll (when possible) have the morale I want.

Having, either for each planet, or empire-wide, a slider giving me the ability to instead (optionally) set 'target morale' for my planets, and then the game would auto-adjust propagande to reach that level when possible, would save a LOT on the micro-management in the early part of the game for me. (Which still leaves the micro-management of moving zillions of constructors around in the late part... but that's a different problem.)

What is the "propaganda slider"? Is it individual for each planet? or are talking about adjusting the tax rate on the econ screen to get a decent approval %?

The Propaganda Slider is individual for each planet, you find it by clicking at "Details" when you look at the planet screen.

I wish the economic sliders were like the ones in HOI where you could right click on it and it would lock it into place it would make adjusting percentages easier. Also the propoganda sliders I wish would stay at that percentage I put it at indefinitly untill I readjust them. The way it is now I adjust say planet earth to 100% propoganda and it seems that next month it resets itself to 0% and I have to manually go to each slider again and raise it back up, wich that was tweaked

hmm wish there was. Come to think of it, a "lock bar" button would save me time trying to balance them up :D
