What about the wasted resources now?

I know there is a thread regarding this, but I've never found a comment from the Dev's, therefore I ask seperately if this will be adressed, is in change, will come with the bonus pack #2 or what?

Right now you lose money if you haven't got anything to build. Is this really meant to work that way?

I don't understand why we're searching a "best solution", just give the spent bc back and the problem is solved, isn't it? :)

there is a whole sticky thread devoted to this issue.

Yep, but the first post is valid. Giving the credits back is an easy, obvious solution. Maybe not the absolute best, but it would be much better than the current situation, I think...

I think it should be fairly obvious why there's a search for the best solution?

Because it's the best! :)

I did that already :) - but my question is, in what time will there be a solution? If a solution will come with the bonus pack 2, I'd say it would be a good idea, to simply patch it with the "money back" idea, till the *best* solution is programmed.

Better a semi-solution which is better then status quo, than a best solution which is far away, IMHO.

But however, I really just wanted to know, what the time shedule for this is. :)

I second that. I want this issue to be dealt with. And any interim solution will be better than the waste of money.

Yeah -- can you give us any kind of timeline on this issue, Brad, for better or worse (sooner or later)? :)

Giving the money back would be an OBVIOUS solution but not a good solution.

I have commented periodically why this would create balance problems in the game. The OS/2 version, btw, did this. Which is why we changed it to the way we have it here.

what balance problems would it cause? everyone has the same rules, so it shouldn't be that much of a problem. But I see, that we won't get it, whatever the reason is (maybe you should add this reason to the manual, IMHO), so I don't nitpick you with it anymore. ;) It's not as if it was a game stopper or something, so I just have to find a workaround. :)

I can understand why cashback is a problem and I'm sure you thought about it but I'd be interested anyway: what about being able to build 'support modules' as social projects which then could be shipped from one planet to the other and increase production there? That would increase Micromanagement for sure but it would also open several routes of strategic planning.

FWIW, I think this isn't a problem at all. The idea that unused planetary capacity is wasted doesn't bother me.

To my mind, the solution tends to be clear. I always can use more constructors, so I never worry about military queues. For planets, I have a fairly standard governor list. If I run out of improvements I want, I usually have a trade good or wonder to build.

To me, the issue is much ado about nothing. This feature hasn't interfered with my enjoyment in the slightest.
