leaders

Are there leaders in the game? I'm not talking about generic leaders, but like ones that rise above as being truely a great influencer, military leader, etc. (like our history's great leaders). Perhaps they rise up and provide the empire various benefits until they die. I haven't read the manual fully yet, so I dunno if it's there or not.

Not to my knowledge.. Your ships get better, so you could name the ship something special (like USS Enterprise) and have it as a "special" ship ;)

it would be neat if the game said, "a promising cadet named Jean-Luc Picard has graduated with honors and has shown fine leadership skills in training."

Then a few years later it says, "Jean-Luc Picard is ready for his own command. You should assign him to a ship immediately".

I would also make it so that game could have leaders in all areas of the game (diplomacy, trade, etc.)

Hmm, that would be more Moo2 than GalCiv.. but it would be cool, but I hardly think they will do it, maybe Brad can answer this instead (Brad=Frogboy=CEO Stardock)

Oh...I like that Idea!! :d ...Maybe that could be set up as a event. That was one of my favorite features in Moo2, Can we have it (Frogboy) PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE I'll pay extra if you let us name and add are own pictures to represent the leaders ;)

I never really worried about that feature in MOO2. I like the idea of a "flagship" tho. A ship that has all the latest tech and maybe adds a combat bonus to any fleet it leads.

I wouldn't mind a ship along the lines of Battlestar Galactica with a whole heap of Colonial Vipers on board.

The more I can personalize the game the better, I would love to have a picture of myself as a plant leader or a ship captain, You could of course keep the default pic's the game generates if you like. I think this would give the game so much more character and would give the player a feeling of ownership and personal claim in the game

I know you can MOD a pic in as the planet leader. At least on the setup screen. Some one has been working on a Babalon 5 Mod and has all the leaders changed.
