Loopholes

I can't help but spot loopholes whenever I read/use a set of rules. I'd like to know if the following would work, just to satisfy my curiousity.

In order to become a saint after initially having been a bit too greedy in the "yay neat bonus kill'em off" department: There's a bunch of class 3 and 4 and what have you planets around. If I built a fleet of colony ships, put 1 mill people in each and went around colonizing these planets, would my always choosing the "Good" events I get on those be a fast lane to goodness?

What if I just picked one planet and colonized it/destroyed the colony/colonized it/etc ad infinitum always picking Good choices?

If I destroy a colony, will it remember the bonus/penalty from the original event next time I colonize it? If not, can't I just keep colonizing it until I get an event I like?

I was wondering about this myself. First, you cannot colonize below level 12. However, nothing prevents you from re-using the planet. I.e., kill the colony and restart. Last, events don't always occur immediately, so you hate throw away a planet you spent some time building up.

With the discussion in a different thread in mind:

Is another loophole to avoid losing colonies to enemy Influence by saving and loading every now and then in order to screw up the computer's calculation of sector Influence?

There was some discussion of a 'preserve random seed', but IIRC it doesn't do this. Actually, I don't think it could possibly do this, since the AI is multithreaded. Because say the A.I. runs a fews trials combats to see if the results will be good. Then it uses the RNG, right? But as I understand it, the other A.I.s are doing the same thing at the same time, so the order changes from game to game. So saving the seed does no good.

Oh, crap. Just reread your post, this isn't what you asked. Still, your colonies make a 'saving throw' to resist, which is affected by the RNG. Also, the cultural victory condition requires 10 months of domination, which I dunno if that can be done over saves/reloads. Interesting question, tho.

I believe you CAN colonise below class 12.

As for destroying and recolonising, sure you could do this, but it would cost lots in colony ships, hoping for a random event each time. Wouldn't be much fun!

Confirm the colonization below level 12, I just tried.

Had to build a 'bridge' colony to reach some nice, juicy planets. Burned the bridge colony once I arrived ;p .
