Whats the official line on the game enhancements in the library?

They look like fun but are they compatible with all the official updates and do they screw up metaverse scoring?

Is it best to just leave them alone?

Thanks.

Sometime soon, the mods in the Library will be split into certified and uncertified sections, so you will know which ones will not screw up the Metaverse. Since they are separate data files, they won't mess up other parts of GalCiv.

If there is a "Stardock certified" label on them, they're safe. If they don't, they're probably still safe but are more a use at your own risk.

mmm I think only one of the mods currently has said sticker on it..How effective is this rating system if it excludes 99%

If the plan is to have a very select group can we get a certified filter tab on the sidebar ?

I can personally vouch for the Events mods written by Nephrinn, I've installed all of them and seen them come up at various times and they are all quite balanced (they also have some very nice graphics artwork). I also installed the Smuggling tech and the Courage anomaly mods, since they were written by Brad I figured they were safe enough. The rest I haven't tested yet, will probably download another batch for my next game.

No offense to whoever makes library events, but alot of them are inferior to the originals.

Most of the originals were funny and had me making some difficult cost/benefit analyses. Sacrifice 100 people a day for better planet quality, etc.

80% of the ones I've tried aren't funny and aren't tempting from a cost/benefit view.

(Hmm, an evil choice for the pleasure of sending Godzilla into enemy territory.... which has NO EFFECT ON GAMEPLAY. Or I can become evil for a +1 espionage penalty whoo-hoo).

Kudos to whoever wrote the originals and the few good extras (and also Angelina Jolie :). I think the plague of boils one was fantastic.
