Anyone else glad for crashes?

I've discovered that the occasional crash-to-desktop is the only thing that'll get me to go to bed... LOL

LOL :)

It's been requested that we put in a timer...should we also put in the option to automatically shut down the game for you and turn off your computer? :)

lol....Did the same thing last night...Was in the zone...didn't realize how late it was till a CTD and I saw the systray...then off to bed :D

Yeah, CTDs can be a lifesaver at 5 in the morning :)

Cari: Naw, it doesn't need to turn the computer off, just have it autosave and then simulate a CTD :)

CariElf, and erase the bootfiles on the harddrive? ;p

Sorry... couldn't resist ;)

I've had one game with CTD's thusfar. That was while playing version 1.01something I think. After that it never happened again. And now I'm trying to keep my eyes open at work... AGAIN! ;)

Too right. I'm still in the messing around, trying to forget the strategies from OS/2 that just get me creamed now, what happens if I try this path, etc stage. Because I'm not really trying to win (my excuse ;) ) the games bounce all over the place, 1st place, 4th, 1st again ending almost by accident. And I've been on call all week and pulled overnight support at the weekend. My head feels like someone removed my brain and filled the cavity with helium. My new bed arrives tomorrow and I plan a thorough test.
Wonderful game.

Put in a utility that dials up Dominoes pizza and orders automatically youve got a winner.
:d ;p :D

Ha! LOL Some great suggestions there. I second the apparently serious request for a timer, although I'd be seriously happy about an option to have the timer save and shutdown, otherwise I might just find myself "hitting the snooze button"...

...automatic pizza ordering... nice

LOL! I like the pizza ordering idea. But that would just encourage you to stay at your computer. :)

Snooze buttons are dangerous. I've been known to hit them in my sleep.

Mine came up with a CTD just in time for Frasier the other night. Good thing, too, because I'd clean forgotten and got dropped back out to IRC in time to see a friend dashing off to watch it! :D

A timer would be useful methinks. :)

I load a 5 hour playlist into winamp. When the music stops - I stop playing.

Just don't leave repeat on or you'll be watching the sun rise again.

:) Good point. Gal Civ's mp3 player automatically repeats.

you think hitting the snooze button while you're asleep is bad, i unplug the clock in my sleep(seriously)

btw only one ctd to date

Actually, Carielf's "timer" bit might be a good idea. When you start/load a game, there could be a turn-limiter option that a player could activate ("hmm, I'll only play 20 turns tonight"). Since the demo has a 144 turn limit, this could be implemented into a patch easily.
