A two-page printable tech tree

Thanks to the great tool provided by panath (see http://www.galciv.com/forum.asp?BID=GF&id=51497), I was able to take a graphic generated by his program and create a compact tech tree suitable for printing.

I changed the yellow colors to gray (for monochrome printers) and moved some techs around to allow a clean split down the middle.

I will probably be tweaking it somewhat for my particular tastes, like adding tech costs and notations for trade goods, wonders and achievements.

These files are the same size vertically, but I had a slight alignment problem with them on my printer. Hopefully everyone else will have better luck.

I'm going to work on this over the next few days, especially cutting down on the number of crossed lines and switching to a more readable font.

I don't mean to advertise somebody else's work in this thread, but since somebody already mentioned it... You can get Zah's tech tree to look extremely good on four pages. The difference is, though, that you get a lot more information you need: benefits provided, research cost, maintenance, alignment requirements, etc. Load up the excel spreadsheet and tell excel to fit to four pages at 600 dpi. Tape them together, fold in half and you're set. I don't even need to use Javascout's database anymore. It's basically like 2 pages, since you don't need to really flip it over until late in the game.

The problem with the 4-page tech tree for me is that I want to look further down the tree to decide which path I want to take, and a 4-page tree is just too big for me soak in all at once.

I orginally tried to make a 1-pager, but the text was way too small! LOL

I'm just going to make a tech tree that works for me. People are free to use it if they like, or not. A 2-pager is still small enough to take notes on during a game, and then print a new one for the next game.
