Cringe in fear do gooders. The G.R.O.S.S. (Get Rid Of Slimy alienS) empire is now formed. In less than an hour we have jumped 95 other Pacifist Doo Gooder victim empires and lept into 40th out of 135 ranked.

We are an evil empire bent on controlling everything and showing all the other empires out there who's boss. US. Are you listening Euro-"Oh lets let everyone be a senator and give em a vote doo gooder democracy alliance?" We come for you.

For a limited time, (untill I decide otherwise) 5 Pure Evil games, (or just impressing me with your game evilness) submitted will get you a Senatorship. Later, being the evil empire pyramid scheme we are, it will take 10. Of course, being the evil empire we are, that gives you no benefits, no pay, but all the alien carnage you crave most.

Now we do realize that sometimes, you just have to fake being good. You sometimes just have to infiltrate that pacifist party. We understand. But we aren't a kinder gentler empire and don't let their pacifism go to your head. And just sometimes, you gotta let the Aliens live (where else would you find slaves for the heavy metal lava mines?)

In the future, we shall update each other in the empire via this thread, brag of our conquests, drink blood wine, and generally just poke fun (creatively and humorously) at those players whom we find to be too goody goodyish.

Our mottos.

See the Real world issues above

1. Everyone is free to speak his/her mind as long as you aren't abusive.
2. We aren't going to be one of those political empires with a senator from here there everywhere like ahem (Frenchy and the Lap Poodles.) Leave the politics to the politicians. We're just here to play the game and win baby.!!!!
3. Senatorship carries no real extra power here. When a decision is to be made, we get together, we talk, we make a decision. It's that simple.
4. Everyone is free to come and go as he pleases. Though I won't raid another empire for members, if they think here would be more fun, great. If they think elsewhere would be more fun, that's great too. We'll see how great it is elsewhere when they get steamrolled by the Awesome empire that is G.R.O.S.S.

Well that stank. A 5200 point evil victory posts as "anomolous" and gives me 0 points. The result is 600 points off my score. Yeah baby. That's just grand. I'll be discussing with Frogboy at great length this injustice when he returns and insist on the posting of the proper score. A weeks worth of hard work down the drain.. That's special. Precious even.

I'll have to save everything. geez.

Ouch, Pon. That could've been my roadkill game, too. Please post if you find out why it happened like that. I've got one nearly ready to tack on the scoreboard and I'd hate it to turn into a dead score.

LMAO it would happen the week Frogboy is gone and cheat us out of 10th. So how come you haven't joined our evil minions yet? The only thing anomolous about it was 2 economy resources disappeared. (don't know how that happened) But that hurt me (it didn't help) and I wasn't going to ditch a week and a half of work over it. I have the debug log as well as a last turn save so I'll send em in and request the 5200 points be reinstated. Bottom line. I retrieved and saved the proof so I'm not worried.


You need to join up. Cant do much indifferent obliterating alone now can you?

A win over the Yanks (as we call you, except for Mid-Westerners) is savoured to such an extent that we do silly guitar impersonations. Ms Glockenspielenbaum hasn't done very much since has she?

LOL that was in response to our boy's comment "we'll smash em like guitars" But Klim sure needs work on his air guitar.

Funny thing too, Klim set that record in his relay, then beat it in the individual race, yet still lost the record to that Dutchman. Boy you guys know how to build a slick quick pool.

Another Irony. There it's the big thing to beat the kings of swimming. Here, if you say you're a swimmer, out of shape couch potatoes will tell you it's not a real sport.

I am just kicking myself for not taking the opportunity to come down there and watch.

I'm back after two week absence. What's new w/ ver 1.035? I can't find info :( And how do I increase my score? I see increasing AI, and larger galaxy. Shorter games help?

Rob. Welcome back!!!! First, to increase your score stick with 1.31, 1.35 is a score killer.

Larger galaxies seem to score more. Tech wins seem to score more as well.


The key seems to be to take over much of the galaxy, yet concentrate on tech and hope you get it before the cultural rollover win. But don't delay any win. The game detects purposeful delays now and dings you points for that. Tis better to score your culture win (for all that hard work and take less points than to delay it, get dinged and lose more points. Most of the time I get the other wins first.

One thing. I like to take the econ bonus. rather than tech or production. Econ puts it all in right on the top. The others put only 1/3 of their bonus on the top. The other 2/3 of the bonus merely increases production or science (but it takes money to do it)

Rest went into econ bonus.

In your colonization rush on larger galaxies, speed kills. Research up to the first speed improvement tech (blue section) first

Also, when you get both early pq tech,s you can start colonizing 14 class planets when you get the midgame terreforming tech's you can start colonizing 13 class planets. I limit myself to these. Some colonize class 12 but i've found for the time it takes to improve their pq, they don't pay for themselves. Don't colonize them untill you've taken all the yellow and purple star system.. The puter won't claim any other color. They are in a sense freebies. And don't take too many 13,s and 14s at once. they cost you money untill you bring em up to speed.

Most are of the opinion that shorter games score more than longer games. But the effect of gigantic galaxies overcomes this for the moment.

Svalin: You have reached the autoqualification criteria for Senatorship. We will honor that committment. Congrats. Your workload now triples. You get less time to do it. And less pay for not getting it done. (we thought it important to emulate the real world of promotions in this regard) In fact, You get no pay. But if we ever need to hide you out in Oklahoma to avoid reapportionment, we'll spring for the hotel bill. :)


Those of you in the empire, (16 of you) you're grandfathered in under the old requirements. Those not in yet, new requirements will come out as we talk em over.

We are back in 10th. However, a 5200 point game that should have netted me at least 3000 in score posted as an anomoly for zero and actually ended up subtracting 600. That's a 3600 difference. I have the save and the debug files to prove it's legit and will be asking Frogboy when he returns to reinstate it. I won't hold my breath, however. Just more evidence of the "Goody Goody conspiracy !!!" I guess I should have donated to the Save the Galactic sharks fund. :)

So pat yourselves on the back even though it show's us in 11th.
