Cringe in fear do gooders. The G.R.O.S.S. (Get Rid Of Slimy alienS) empire is now formed. In less than an hour we have jumped 95 other Pacifist Doo Gooder victim empires and lept into 40th out of 135 ranked.

We are an evil empire bent on controlling everything and showing all the other empires out there who's boss. US. Are you listening Euro-"Oh lets let everyone be a senator and give em a vote doo gooder democracy alliance?" We come for you.

For a limited time, (untill I decide otherwise) 5 Pure Evil games, (or just impressing me with your game evilness) submitted will get you a Senatorship. Later, being the evil empire pyramid scheme we are, it will take 10. Of course, being the evil empire we are, that gives you no benefits, no pay, but all the alien carnage you crave most.

Now we do realize that sometimes, you just have to fake being good. You sometimes just have to infiltrate that pacifist party. We understand. But we aren't a kinder gentler empire and don't let their pacifism go to your head. And just sometimes, you gotta let the Aliens live (where else would you find slaves for the heavy metal lava mines?)

In the future, we shall update each other in the empire via this thread, brag of our conquests, drink blood wine, and generally just poke fun (creatively and humorously) at those players whom we find to be too goody goodyish.

Ar! It has been a long night of grueling hand-to-hand combat over the #3 spot. GROSS is ahead, but not by much. Hopefully, we can soon raise the Jolly Roger and really strike fear in the other empires. Or maybe just tick them off so much that it distracts them... ;)

Hey guys,

Been reading the other posts (all the other posts), seems like the trade good thing has most people's panties in a wad. The thing was, three days ago Brad on another topic said "staffa you are cheating", then staffa said "no, i did X Y and Z to get those techs, and trade goods shouldn't be bought". Brad says "okay, I'll nerf tradegoods", and releases the patch the next day. Now the masses are screaming, Brad is screaming...its very ugly. I didn't want to start any problems, but what's going on here? Things like the TG thing should really be play tested and not just released as it is. I think everyone is getting overworked. I haven't even played a game in like a week, but it's interesting to watch the flames...but i see GalCiv going down with these flames. Oh well.

LOL I wouldnt worry about it.

I used to see this shit all the time when I played EQ - "if you dont change XYZ that's it I am quitting" blah blah blah.

Actually it barely matters to Stardock whether people play the game (or stick with it) as long as they buy a copy in the first place :).

I would say for unmoderated boards (at least I think they are unmoderated, let me see shit, fuck, damn, poo; yep :)) these are pretty civil, probably due to the advanced age of the players.

Brad looked at Staffa's tech tree. It was determined that the copy Brad gets with the submission was missing techs received via trade, which you have to do heavily on masochistic. Indeed Ray's looked similar. That's why the prereq's were missing from the report. He traded for em.

My strategy is going to have to change cuz I really abused those trade goods but so be it. A change in rules is merely a change in strategy. This game remains the same. He who has the power, wins. And that is G.R.O.S.S.!!!!!! Baby.

Finish any games you started in the old version, submit them, then update to .04 tomorrow or later if you haven't already done so. The tradegoods will be nerfed back up a bit.

I have some of the tech's in on stardock central as we speak.

You have to register EVERYWHERE under the new key. That's here in this forum, the metaverse, stardock central if you use it. Everywhere. And make sure you change the key on your submission screen when you submit. There should be a toggle menu on it.

If it still doesn't work let me know.

Well maybe you have passed the ANZACs for a little while but it's a temporary set back. Can't we just go back to GROSS just being a lame duck bunch of misfits?

And, um, Staffa: the ANZACs are holding a chook raffle to raise money for the Let's Get Staffa Fund. Can I ask whether you are easily bought because I am thinking the chook will go for about $A15 or so. The meat tray (particularly if we throw in the curry snags)may go for a little more.

Oh, and Gerraken, you're in the ANZAC sights. When you are least expecting it buddy, and wham, an inexplicable sheep stampede...

OK, so let me get this straight: some South Side Story types from the land down under had their world turned upside down and now think they are the Shepherd Mafia, trying to bribe one of our best people and threatening to leave a sheep's head in my bed so that I will get the message? LOL I like it. Despite my other duties on the survey ship of doom as part time engineer and morale officer, it is too bad that I am also a gunner, and that is where you'll probably find me if you try to get me, worthy ANZAC foes!

Pontius: Just between you and me, the Kiwis have got the right of it. Once you've had a sheep you can't go back. Plus, the specially trained snappy sheep are lethal killing machines.

And check out the scores people are getting for Tiny maps! Not a single Gigantic map will ever again be posted to the Metaverse!

What they did was counter balance it the other way to suit the few whiners. A giant map should get you more, given the same difficulty. It takes longer. Oh well. So I start playing small. HEHE.

Oh, and Christopher, face it: The only game where it´s good to be Australia is Risk.


I never used Australia in Risk. Because once out, you had to take Asia (the hardest one to take and keep) I always prefered South America (2 routes in) and North America (3 routes in for 5 bonues. Because you could easily parlay your one continent into 2 with still only 3 routes in.
