Cringe in fear do gooders. The G.R.O.S.S. (Get Rid Of Slimy alienS) empire is now formed. In less than an hour we have jumped 95 other Pacifist Doo Gooder victim empires and lept into 40th out of 135 ranked.

We are an evil empire bent on controlling everything and showing all the other empires out there who's boss. US. Are you listening Euro-"Oh lets let everyone be a senator and give em a vote doo gooder democracy alliance?" We come for you.

For a limited time, (untill I decide otherwise) 5 Pure Evil games, (or just impressing me with your game evilness) submitted will get you a Senatorship. Later, being the evil empire pyramid scheme we are, it will take 10. Of course, being the evil empire we are, that gives you no benefits, no pay, but all the alien carnage you crave most.

Now we do realize that sometimes, you just have to fake being good. You sometimes just have to infiltrate that pacifist party. We understand. But we aren't a kinder gentler empire and don't let their pacifism go to your head. And just sometimes, you gotta let the Aliens live (where else would you find slaves for the heavy metal lava mines?)

In the future, we shall update each other in the empire via this thread, brag of our conquests, drink blood wine, and generally just poke fun (creatively and humorously) at those players whom we find to be too goody goodyish.

It's not your call as to how G.R.O.S.S. should be. We are whoever we want to be. And everyone seems to act on a individual level, meaning that not everyone conforms to this generalized perception that you have.

I do as I want. It's as simple as that. If you don't liek it, then cry to Pontius. I'm sure that he's aware of what's going on, and if anything he knows how to contact me so that I can keep him updated on what I'm doing.

You can stay, I don't mind. It's just that I never remembered Pontius saying anything about it. Then again I skip half the posts due to stories. In any case, no one should have to stereotype any empire. People change, and empires do to.

Sorry Kit, just got home and my partner has had a hissy fit about being on the computer all the time. Plus I have no idea what AIM is.

Um, also I sense a growing friction between the Fellowship and GROSS. I was bemused that Miles said he didn't intend to ever post in this thread again, and Ray not sounding too happy. I hope that this is not the case, still, it may be something we should keep in mind and work on if possible?

AIM (as I am quickly discovering) is an instant messaging service. I'm going to keep trying to reach my sensei with his contact details. Just submitted two games tonight to rank me 26th. GROSS closing on the Fellowship - only 11,000 behind as I write this.

Killa - inevitable friction when a finite target is set (as opposed to free-floating 'on top of the ladder', which varies week to week). I feel some noses in the Fellowship may have been tweaked by the manner of Staffa's breaking 100k - not Ray's in particular - and there is some feeling now. Agree with you that should not be allowed to fracture previously held good feelings. Not sure what the deal is with Miles?

Main game: shoulder to wheel to see GROSS get to 1 mil (this is one reason we joined, Killa - play in the main game, so to speak).

Supporting issue: do not wreck good gaming friendships to do so. Ray/Miles - don't be strangers. I like tough hard competition and friendly stirring - let's keep it that way. Sensei entitled to respond if he feels someone is having a go at him - but good idea to have your say and let it go.

Killa - build Terror Star in lounge room to keep partner in line. Slap partner at regular intervals if necessary. Will try to stop talking in bullet sentences. Not sure how long will last. See/hear tomorrow. Goo

I've mentioned it before in the Fellowship thread. I detest trash talking. If I feel folks are trash talking to me, I will stop reading their posts so that I don't start losing interest in this forum.

Friendly ribbing and hard competition is fine. Trash talking is not.

All this one million talk will lead to some harder competition than normal, but it is better to have the Ringbearers close to us so that we can watch them rather than alienate them and have to guess what they are doing. ;)

I am always happy to visit the Prancing Pony so I can hear the latest gossip and sneak over to Fellowship Hall, but Threadzilla is a better place with visitors.

Points to ponder.
1. Yes G.R.O.S.S. es policy is we don't have a secret forum like other empires as to strategy. Our forum is here. We have no other forum. That doesn't mean we don't talk on Aim or Stardock Central or some other talk device the same as you do. Bottom line. I don't know why the fuss when you do the same thing. It never ceases to amaze me the hellfire and brimstone we get for being "badboys" and "unsporting" and "oh it's cuz they rape other empires for members" when we take the lead. But when other empires do the same thing. "Ohhhhh nice hard work everyone, we've erased the cheating deficit" Sounds a lot hypocritical to me. And you know me. I demand consistency. And we have no other forum just as I stated. So that's the end of that spin.

2. We post General strategies for all to see. However, it is impossible to post subtleties, move by move accounts and such as they would render the posts way too long and wouldn't apply even to the next game played. That can be taken in over aim.

3. Given the reception that Fellowship members (not all, and other's as well) Gave EBZ the last time he posted his strategy here, I wouldn't blame him for keeping mum forever. Some of the stuff was pretty darn hateful and there was no legit reason for it. To be honest, that crap nearly saw me leave the metaverse. Sorry but I can't respect anyone (including female American Swimmers) that immediately upon losing start in with that kind of junk. And that's what it was in my opinion Crap.

4. Ray, you're always welcome here. But this is a no spin zone. We'll refute spin everytime. :) It doesn't mean we hate you. Please note. I am not a Bill O'Reilly fan. His is the biggest Spinzone on the planet. I think you're more than just a lil upset over what Staffa did a few nights back. Perhaps you should step back and rethink things a bit. I've never had any policy to tell people how they should play and won't start. The way I played it was only upgrade the defective 1.44 games to 1.05. That was the right thing to do. FOR ME. I don't presume to say what's right for others. There is one of your members that has worn out his welcome with me. I think you gan guess which one. His little hateful speach on your thread says it all. We're he in G.R.O.S.S. and pulled something to that effect, I'd boot his butt out so fast it would make his head swim. Not just uncalled for. Totally crossed the line. And I nailed him for it.

5. G.R.O.S.S. members. You've always been free to speak your mind ON THE ISSUES here. But please guys lets not crack on each other in open forum. We have enough from other empires doing it to last a lifetime. Take it private. That's where it should stay. This is supposed to be a fun empire where peeps can pretty much come and go as they want, do their own thing, And here's a novel concept, ACTUALLY READ A SPACE BASED STORY OR TWO!!!! Boy I look at other empire threads and think Oh great story but WHERE'S THE STARS!!! WHERE'S THE SPACE!!!!

6. If anyone feels pressured to submit a game beyond their fun level or feels like it's too much work, than First place isn't worth achieveing, nor is first to 1 million if that's the feeling we're gonna get out of it. Make no mistake. I play to win. For keeps. But if winning is more important than fun, then it's time to take a break.

If you need me my aim is Bonkers Bruin. You'll have to tell me to turn it on.

Update, I am still having problem getting my games to posting to metaverse. Now getting little upset that Stardock can not help me solve the problem. I have been working with them since beginning of the month. I currently have three game ready. And would like to help us on our quest for 1 million.

Yes I version 1.05 game on my new laptop over the weekend

The program is advise me that it is submitting successfully. However if you look at my score and last post is on 7/3/03

Well try this. Go back. Change your serial # back to your old numberRe update it to your Drengin.net code number. The proceedure was just written somewhere. It will take awhile to find. You should get a prompt to update in there somewhere. Have they suggested anything like that that as the problem? And are all your firewalls and pop up blockers down when you submit?

Hmmm. Desperation time, black smoke. So I'll just resort to throwing out the random tidbits I have picked up. Of course, it may not work, but I have to try!

Log off web site. Log back on. Re-register player name on Metaverse. Make sure that any Drengin.net upgrade was fully converted. Hope the submission screen is not trying to send the score to the wrong alias. After that, I am out of ideas.

That's exactly the reason why I'm part of this game and forum. To have fun and not to engage in some meaningless trash talk.
