Cringe in fear do gooders. The G.R.O.S.S. (Get Rid Of Slimy alienS) empire is now formed. In less than an hour we have jumped 95 other Pacifist Doo Gooder victim empires and lept into 40th out of 135 ranked.

We are an evil empire bent on controlling everything and showing all the other empires out there who's boss. US. Are you listening Euro-"Oh lets let everyone be a senator and give em a vote doo gooder democracy alliance?" We come for you.

For a limited time, (untill I decide otherwise) 5 Pure Evil games, (or just impressing me with your game evilness) submitted will get you a Senatorship. Later, being the evil empire pyramid scheme we are, it will take 10. Of course, being the evil empire we are, that gives you no benefits, no pay, but all the alien carnage you crave most.

Now we do realize that sometimes, you just have to fake being good. You sometimes just have to infiltrate that pacifist party. We understand. But we aren't a kinder gentler empire and don't let their pacifism go to your head. And just sometimes, you gotta let the Aliens live (where else would you find slaves for the heavy metal lava mines?)

In the future, we shall update each other in the empire via this thread, brag of our conquests, drink blood wine, and generally just poke fun (creatively and humorously) at those players whom we find to be too goody goodyish.

Welcome aboard, matey! Make sure you update your game (from Stardock Central). You got a low score because of an OLD version of the game.

Make sure you update before you submit more games. If you still have the save game for the game you submitted, you can resubmit once you update.

BPlesheck. There should be a stardock central install program on your disk. Run it and it will take you to stardock central where you can download the latest version of the game 1.05. Download the expansion pack (the first one) then download 1.05. then submit all those games... zooooom your scores will skyrocket.

Hi pirates and EBZ:

This is my first post here but I finally read the entire thread. I want to thank EBZ for the strategy on post #1106. I know the disclaimers EBZ, that you play better now but it offered a new way to play. I hope you post your new strategy and maybe get it in the Orion Gal Civ Strategy Guide. The "high volume" in the metaverse strategy seems to be as valid as the "big galaxy" or "tough difficulty" approaches considering the way the metaverse is calculated. Plus, competition between empires is desirable to retain interest in playing. Heck, let's make it fun, right?

I scored an 11610, which seemed high for a beginer level game, but it took me 5 hours so your speed is amazing. How you can do 3 per day is a unique skill so congratulations. You must have some anti-gravity accelerators that I don't have. LOL.

Personally, I have to go back to painful and large/huge at least for now but thanks for the strategy tip. If I feel like mugging the AI, I now know how. LOL. Please post your new strategies soon and don't pay attention to any barbs from others who play differently. :)

We're working on Pleasure Bots, but we're having a few problems. Their edges are very sharp, for one... :SURPRISED:

As for research bots - well, of course the good one looks good and the evil one looks evil, they're your news announcers! They have to fit in with your empire! That doesn't mean you should be attracted to the good one - or any one, for that matter. Their room's got a camera in it, ffs - you bloody perverts. Talk about getting it off in public places! I swear to God, if I see one of you sitting on my research bot's lap when I'm getting my next tech report... well, that's just not cricket, is it?

Ah, we can always handle a little fun. And, after you get the game and look around the Metaverse a bit, the membership invite is always open if you feel we meet your needs.

But if anyone doubts our evilness and is searching for real evil empires, consider this: Real evil empires have both numbers and a significant percentage of evil to go with those numbers. If there was a fictitious empire of 6 people where 3 were evil, it would in no way compare to a real evil empire like GROSS with 44 scoring members where 26 are evil. So, the choices are to found a fledgling empire of evil and be stuck alone, or join up with some real bad guys.

Just finished reading the ANZAC A.S.S. thread. nice reading. One thing that GROSS might want to consider is the possibility of a new thread. Reading an empire thread that is 8 pages is attractive, reading one that is 82 pages long is intimidating, and a lot of good evil stories will be missed. And after all, it's the stories that is going to attract newbies to fold (maybe). I quit at the end of page 4. granted, it was an early exit from the thread. but I was tired, had my 4th connection loss (file manager still working this time around), and needed to slip into something more comfortable (my fiancee). Currently, I am at 44% dl, but I need to get some sleep. If I get disconnected again, I hope the file manager don't have some time limit imbedded to resume.

And who is to say a fledgling empire would cause me to be "stuck alone"? I certainly can't make any decisions yet as to the course of action, due to the lack of knowledge regarding the metaverse and FV game strategies. Only time will tell.

I haven't read the entire GROSS thread (though I've made a couple attempts). I have kept up on South Seas thread simply because I've been around.

Now one is expected to read the whole thing -- that would be truly evil. Read enough to get the flavor. If you consider that GROSS actually has 3 main threads - you'll realize that we are by far the most active empire.

If you pick an empire that's not on the first page of the ranking - it's most likely that no one in the empire still plays.

Well, the other reasons I think wading through the long thread is not only tedious but a basic waste of time is a lot of the earlier pages are no longer applicable due to game updates. Imagine reading a cool tactic in an early post, only to find out that paticular stratagy of pseudo-cheese has been addressed in an update, and that update itself is obsolete. lol

That, and current viable stratigies can be a pita to find (like the start oulined on post 1026 or something clost to that number). try finding quickly through the eyes of a noob. I might even consider making a new thread when a new update becomes available (non-beta) or when it hits page 21 or so. if a strat is still viable, it would be an easy thing to start the thread with a "current GROSS stratagies or rules or whatever" quote.

Why am I giving advice to an empire I might not even join? Call it honing my diplomatic skills ;). After all, recruitment is one of the goals of this empire, yes? Anything to make newbie assimilation easier for all empires must be a good thing.

Besides, it's fun pointing out things that are faults in my POV.

Gonna try this "sleep" thing I heard about again.

Was away from my computer over the weekend and when I get back we are in first. I am also about to finish a game on a large map its only me and the Drengin left and I control over 3/4 of the galaxy. Soon they will feel my cutlass ripping them to shreds and I will be victorious.Then several barges of "supplies" will arrive at KFDs across the galaxy

Statistical probability. Note the 12 pages of dead or near empty empires after page one on the Metaverse. But who am I to question what could be the Metaverse's next success story? Afterall, I encourage joining an empire, any empire, so why not let someone have the chance to make their own? Just in case, though, I am sure the other functioning empires would all be open to merger talks if things went badly. ;)

That is quite a valid point. I admit. Too bad all those old posts contain the history and tradition of the empire, whether that empire be GROSS, the Fellowship, the MWC, whoever. But what is history to anyone who wants to join a big ol' empire just to have fun? Nothing to the one, but essential to the group to maintain identity. If there was no group identity, we may all just quit empires and become lone wolves. If the idea is truly important, it will probably get a thread of its own, but Threadzilla and the Posse thread are here to stay.

Then there is the slight fact that we are not just large, we are GROSS. Everything we do is on a grand scale. Lots of members, lots of scores, lots of posts, lots of everything. That is just my warped version of reality, at least. :)

We used to maintain the big threadzilla, and just have one or two small recruiting threads out there. But.... two of those have now taken on a life of their own. And Threadzilla's bigness has been a source of pride with us and others on the metaverse. We can't kill her now. She's a part of us. One of the family. And you can skip all those posts by clicking through the pages.
