Captain Jack Sparrow Captain Jack Sparrow

G.R.O.S.S. communication thread.

G.R.O.S.S. communication thread.

Cringe in fear do gooders. The G.R.O.S.S. (Get Rid Of Slimy alienS) empire is now formed. In less than an hour we have jumped 95 other Pacifist Doo Gooder victim empires and lept into 40th out of 135 ranked.

We are an evil empire bent on controlling everything and showing all the other empires out there who's boss. US. Are you listening Euro-"Oh lets let everyone be a senator and give em a vote doo gooder democracy alliance?" We come for you.

For a limited time, (untill I decide otherwise) 5 Pure Evil games, (or just impressing me with your game evilness) submitted will get you a Senatorship. Later, being the evil empire pyramid scheme we are, it will take 10. Of course, being the evil empire we are, that gives you no benefits, no pay, but all the alien carnage you crave most.

Now we do realize that sometimes, you just have to fake being good. You sometimes just have to infiltrate that pacifist party. We understand. But we aren't a kinder gentler empire and don't let their pacifism go to your head. And just sometimes, you gotta let the Aliens live (where else would you find slaves for the heavy metal lava mines?)

In the future, we shall update each other in the empire via this thread, brag of our conquests, drink blood wine, and generally just poke fun (creatively and humorously) at those players whom we find to be too goody goodyish.

Our mottos.

G.R.O.S.S. Where being good is merely a temporary strategy.

Just win baby.

Here's your ration of skin you do gooder wimp Drengin slime. Now get back to work

EBZeroMatrix you have been made a senator.

I repeat. Cringe in fear, we come for you.

A hearty KitWarrior welcome to tornspace and HaveOne! :D ARRRGH!!! Please feel free to say hello... er... arrrgh to the crew. Also, you can ask any questions you have about GalCiv right here in Threadzilla. We’ve got a lot of experience to share. :)

One more thing, some folks have said they’re having a problem with Threadzilla’s size. One solution is to always be logged on when you check this thread. Your browser should automatically skip to the last page you viewed without a fuss. If folks are still having problems communicating on this thread, let us know. Perhaps we’ll start specialized G.R.O.S.S. threads like our recruitment thread and the G.C.C.G. II thread. We’re here to please you! ...right after we get back from some raiding and plundering. ;)

Unfortunately since I'm a self-taught web designer too that wouldn't be that easy... all I can advise you to do is find some good books or websites on the subject, get as much practice as you can, and pick apart the code on any sites you find to be interesting so you can find out how they did what they did. :)

He figured it out from the lack of the subject in your headlines posted here. We don't read them unless they glorify us.

Boy those gigantic maps are a bear! :notsure: It's bigger than in 1.05, isn't it? Whew! Maybe I should downsize for a spell.

I like Tiny maps... get right into the action, everybody is next to everybody, lots of interaction.

Closed off another Tiny Maso for 26K yesterday. It was a very close one, down to me and the Drengin at the end. the Yor tried to surrender to me, but actually died in the same round. I started fielding Dreadnoughts, and a turn or two later the Dregin started fielding Avatars! Luckily, Anti-matter missiles (which I've never used before) have a really good chance of taking out an Avatar... I made *liberal* use of them with Dreadnoughts flying around to clean up incidentals like transports and constructors.

Time came to invade a Drengin world.... Nice solid combat advantage of 21, then I looked at the Drengin advantage... 39!!! OMG!

40 Billion soliders later (and 12 combat transports, freakin Avatars), I control the Drengin home system... but hardly have enough colonists left to field additional assaults. Luckily I was able to take out the remaining colony worlds while playing dodge-em with his shiny new Overlord (Torian wimps culturaly absorbed = 13 billion new soldiers!)...

I *like* mass driver assaults... sure, it put my bank account at -2800 bc, but when you lose the fight, it inflicts *no* damage on the world!

Think I'm going to try a less-stressful setup for next game (I should say 7 games, since I lost 6 before this one). Non-masochistic, wierd setup, low scoring games... :)

Yes. It's quite a bit bigger. And when you get to Maso, It's useless to play as it goes over the point cap. It's the slowest at turn changes and thus takes boku time as well. Huge is probably the biggest I'll play. Smalls go as quick as tinies and you get more points.

Yay! :D The Boss is playing again! :CONGRAT:

There are a few issues for Stardock to work on, but nothing unusual, serious, or too discouraging in this list. :)

1. The average difficulty shield calculation is a bit goofy.

2. The gigantic filter for the Metaverse rankings is not updated.

3. A typo on the neutral morality score page saying "Netural".

4. A typo on the legend page under average difficulty saying “Challengin”.

Although I kind of liked the idea of a small recruiting thread in addition to threadzilla. Trouble with those is, those are much easier to spam. HEHE.
