Pink stars

In a current game, gigantic, I found a pink star with a 15 planet. Is this a bug or does it have any significants at all? I also wonder how many colonize 14 PQ on smaller maps?

On smaller maps, if I've got some good cash coming in, I not only colonize 14PQ, I'll also colonize 13PQ once I've got Habitat Improvment.

Oh, I've also found Pink/Purple stars with planets that were as high as 26PQ (and I triggered a worm effect on colonization and wound up with a 30+ PQ planet. :)

I could have sworn that the manual said something about yellow stars being more likely to have habitable stars, not that they had a monopoly on them. But I'm too lazy to look that up for you ;)

Yellow stars have the best chance of finding habitable planets, except for the rare purple star. Purple is supposed to have a better change of having high PQ planets.

I got that too. It was kinda freaky looking, but it was a powerful system (reminiscent of the ones that the minor civs get to start).

Well maybe it is pinkish purple but there is nothing special about it so far. Just another PQ 17 system now that it is upgraded. :)

i hear there is an influence bonus to one of the two types purple stars but i havent verified it

I found two purple stars in my current game. They have habitable, but not exceptional, planets orbiting them. Their base influence level is much higher than other stars. The manual briefly mentions stars associated with the precursors that you can occasionally find that have unusually high influence.

Yeah, I think I was wrong about the higher PQ part. It was probably coincidence that the few purple stars I've found had good planets.
