auto launch ships (made easier)

I have some trouble with the auto launch ship feature, I don't think you can toggle them for all the colonies that you have simultaneously but instead you have to toggle them from the main planet screen individually. I don't know if I'm complaining out of ignorance (ie there is a button somewhere that does what I want to do), and sorry if I am.

I really think this is a worthwhile feature. thanks :)

Scott and I were discussing this, but this sort of thing is going to be low-priority unless a lot of people feel that this is necessary.

I would also like a global auto-launch.... Therefore... BUMP!

Add another vote for global launch... from a design standpoint it makes consistent sense to me. We already have a global military construction queue ability, that should tie in to a global launch capability. Point being that when you have your whole empire cranking constructors you want them to launch! And when you are cranking out defensive ships you DON't want them to launch!

Hmmm... I'm o.k. with the current auto launch settings, but I agree about an over-ride or some different way of handling Colony Ships and Transports. No suggestion on that one right now (other then juist don't autolaunch them... which is kind of a sucky suggestion since it defeats the whole purpose of the autolaunch to begin with! :notsure: )

I think if a galaxy wide setting is put in the best place in the current GUI for it would be on the options screen...

I would love and option to auto-launch globablly but also have the option to not auto-launch colony ships, transports and constructors when this setting is turned on. Without that last options there, I think auto-launching globally would not be worth it (i.e. I don't think I would use it much).

As it is, auto-launch becomes more trouble than it's worth when you have lots of colonies. Too many little checkboxes to click on. Definitely would like a global toggle. And surely that would be a simple thing to code.

And, eventually, of course things like transports and colony ships, that require user input, should never auto-launch. Or, if they do, there should be some way to set a default number of colonists and soldiers for each.

Second part sounds like it would be non-trivial to implement. Global auto-launch though... pffft, how much simpler can something be to add? Get on it! :)

Yes for Global Auto-launch

Double Plus Yes for Global Auto-launch with colony ship and transport toggle off switch.

Though, I would put this at a much lower priority than. . . oh. . . individual planet Mil/Soc/Res sliders.

Rally points, plain and simple. Do it by star system. You have the star system selected, choose your rally point, and all your ships head there once they're built. Makes starbasing way easier.

It would be best if you could auto launch all warships, or all constructors.

Click this "Button1" to launch all Warships
Click the "Button2" to launch all Constructors

I would like to see the following settings for auto-launch related topics:

1): Empire wide auto-launch
2): Empire wide colony ship ignores auto-launch
3): Empire wide auto-queue last auto-launched ship (i.e. if you just auto-launched a contructor, put another constructor in my military queue please)
4): Empire wide default military project or an option to change military projects from "Nothing" to something.

Playing a gigantic game with over a hundred colonies and 10-30 constructors being produced per turn, #3 and #4 would be especially helpful.

Another vote for global autolaunch. I had three ships sitting around for a few years.

OK, perhaps that's what I get for playing into the wee hours of the night, but please, have pity and make life easy for us addicts.

I'm up for either a global autolaunch or a "default" for new colonies to either autolaunch or not. I like to not autolaunch when I'm building defender ships but all others I use it. I just tend to space out sometimes and forget to set it one way or the other. Maybe it can be "intelligent" and change based on the ship being built?
