Ok so I am just throwing this idea out there because I am a Halo fanatic and I think that this game could easily incorporate the Halo universe into it. I am not a very good designer but I can provide support and more ideas. There are already two races that could easily be changed into the Humans and the Covenant( TEC and Advent). All we would have to do would be to change ships some and add  gauss guns to most TEC Cap ships. I know this might take a long time but if it means that we will finally have a Halo space combat game then it will be well worth it.

For when you start on the Covies, I was watching StarShip Troopers, the first movie, and realized that the bug plasma would work REALLY well for Covie plasma.

Nice! I'm in Charleston. We're putting in a good clip for the UNSC but I'm waiting for some models that CaptnKeyes said he was doing. We already have one covenant ship (the CCS) but thats because CaptKeyes wanted to make a trailer.

Found that (Gotta sign up to see it), it's basicly a guy who makes a bunch of UNSC ships. And since probably half of the UNSC ships aren't done, I figured this might help with ideas, or, actually be used if permission is obtained.

What caught my eye of his was his utility tug and transport (Both of which are needed for the UNSC, and seem to have been forgotten) and his super-carrier design. He also has two stations which are needed for the UNSC aswell. Hope it helps.

I think that the Covie plasma weapons could be easily made by using the Vasari's phase missiles and just making them bigger or something.

The covenant didn't have a counterpart to the MAC, as their base plasma weapons were powerfull enough. And as for the large fleet thing, it actually wouldn't be too difficult, hotkeys make it easy to micromanage unit abilities, and hey, if that's not for you, you can allways set it to auto-cast.What I ment was the Covenant plasma was incredibly powerful like the MAC and should be an ability like the MAC if the MAC is going to be an ability.


They have that sniper ship from the Fall of Reach which 1HKOed any human ship

I already tried to contact Liam887 a couple of weeks ago and I haven't got an answer. I'll try again. BELIEVE me, that would be a load off my back if we could get his models.

for the moment and with my current knowledge i dont know enough about attack abilities to make a plasma one. it was simply easier to make it a non ability attack. that part is finished for me until a latter time when i have time to make an update on the torp.

the energy projector is already an ability on the radience battleship called beam blast. all i have to do is give it long range.

how about the covie point defense lasers? are they illum lasers or what?

Covies don't have point defense lasers, and their plasma torps shouldn't be an ability. They were too spammable to be an ability. A MAC makes a good ability, because in the Haloverse it has to charge up for a couple minutes anyways, but Covie weapons don't have this same restriction. They can fire a plasma torp the second the first one detonates. So you'd basicly have to give it no cool-down time, in which case it's more a hassle then anything.

For the Covenant ships how about they are given abilities similar to the different races

Grunt: Self-destruct: Explodes and damages nearby ships
Jackal: Plunder: A passive ability that gives you a share of the resources of each ship you destroy
Hunter: Fuel Rod Cannon: A series of fuel rod cannon blasts are fired at a target
Elite: Tactical management: A passive ability that increases the stats of nearby ships
Brute: Rage: Halfs range but doubles attack strength
Drone: Swarm: A swarm of drones disable the targeted ship or structure
Prophet: Fanatic: Increases the abilities of the targeted ship

It's a good idea, but impossible. Covie ships weren't race specific, and infact before the split were entirely crewed by Elites. Other races may have performed menial tasks on the ships, but the main systems were run by Elites. And so it doesn't make sense to give ships race specific traits.

Some ships actually were crewed by Brutes. See Contact: Harvest. I personally would give them a "Berserk Rage" ability with increased weapons damage but they also take more damage.

Well, I'm not sure what the books said, but I know for a fact before the civil war, the Elites were the dominant, and most trusted race of the Prophets. So even if, by some chance, Brutes crewed some ships, it'd be rare and intermitant. And it deffinently would not be an entire class of ship only ever crewed by brutes. If anything brutes would crew the Covenant Cruiser Dominance, while Elites crewed the Covenant Cruiser Justice, or something. Two differant ships of the same class. And how do you put that ingame?

Only possible way for it to work would be to randomly give the ships differant abilities, which aint possible. And so the whole idea just doesn't fit the mod.

Elites crewed the big new powerful ships but according to the Contact Harvest Brutes crewed big old ships and Jackals crewed small ships. So you could make it a class system in which you start at say jackal at the small ships move up to brutes at the cruisers then Elites at the capitals and possibly end at prophets at the biggest, strongest capital.
Or you could have it as researchable

honestly i dont care who is the crew of the ship. all that will do is spark an argument that doesnt get us anywhere. it doesnt matter who crews it its the covenant all the same. as long aS all the ships do their part im sure most users will be happy.
