The Ultimate Combo mod - featured in PC GAMER

Welcome to the 7 DEADLY SINS mod, as featured in PC GAMER by DANMAN .

Welcome to 7 Deadly Sins 2.5 FINAL for the latest version of Sins Entrenchment 1.053.
7DS can only be played at HIGH maximum settings. DO NOT USE VERY HIGH settings. This will cause a minidump. Also, there is an issue with Win7 64 bit. You will get crashes, load errors, or the game will not even play, with or without warning. Just keep reloading the game and trying until you actually get into the game and play. This is a Windows problem, not a problem with Sins or 7DS.

7 Deadly Sins is:

The ultimate combo mod, the "unoffical" expansion of Sins of a Solar Empire, or so it has been dubbed by the mod community.
The work of many individual modders working together under my leadership (DANMAN3712).
Nearly 4 years old and downloaded in various forms over 100k times worldwide and in 5 languages.

Together, we form the 7DS Mod Team and the backbone of DANMAN GAMES www.danmangames.com

Battlecruisers -very heavy armor, 2 to 3 weapon banks for anti-cruiser, destroyer and frigate duty
Capitalships -capital armor
Dreadnought -capital armor, incredible firepower and durability
Titan -capital armor like Dreadnoughts, possess doomsday weapons

TCA Beta Kol Graviton Doomsday
Imperial Executor SSD Shield Overload
Atlantian Avatar Stellar Converter (beam with damage to all in path)
Triad of Creation -Lapis Blackhole Generator and Spatial Compressor Wormhole Weapon

New Special Abilities
Rogue "Assault Pods", The Machine "Assimilation" for capturing capitalships, TCA armor plating unlocked by research for greater tanking, TOU "Oppression Aura" that reduces enemy firepower, Arilou Obliterator "Ion Cannon" disabling Starbases, Arilou "Mxyzptlk Array" with time disrupting "Quasi-Bomb", Triad of Creation "Nosferatu" and "Ghoul" energy siphons that do damage, and More!

New classes of strikecraft squadrons and Capitalships/Dreadnoughts/Titans with fixed number of Squadrons

Mobile Starbases -all races possess starbases that can move about the gravity well to interdict enemy forces -assault carefully.

12 Playable Races with their own traits that make them more unique, from being a total offensive race, to a highly researching race. Each race now has its own unique tactics of gameplay.

Trader Emergency Coalition- solely based on trade and swarming, with little military might
Corpo-Nations that have rebelled against the Trade Order. Their military might stripped, they have turned to allying themselves with various factions and hiring mercs for protection.
TEC has new Battlecruisers, mercenary contracts, and EMP shells that bypass shields to a small degree.
Trade Coalition Armada- the military arm of the Trade Order
Once the development arm of the Trade Order, they are now the last hope for the Trade Order and humanity. Their ships are bricks with extreme range railguns.

TCA has state of the art weapons on traditional capitalships plus the Dresden and Athena Dreadnought and Beta Kol Titan.
The Orion Unity- modified Orion and Advent Combine
Some Orion split with the Atlantian-Orion Combine to guide the Advent towards their ultimate evolutionary stage. TOU ships are stronger, faster and deadlier; They can even travel between worlds using the Phase Stabilizer technology of the Tempest Titan.
Ship research boosts weapon performance.

DARK FLEET- modified Vasari
The Dark Fleet is all that remains of the Vasari. Where the weak Exodus ran often and fought rarely, the Dark Fleet seeks total dominion through force of arms. Their 5 Titan ships roam looking for prey.
Play style is familiar with greater armor, firepower and destructive potential.

Imperial Armada- from Star Wars
Guided by a clone of General Thrawn, the wasteland armadas of the Imperial Armada can employ powerful Force Alchemical Technology and even unleash the power of the Executor Super Star Destroyer.
Can unlock Jedi and/or Sith Holocrons for performance boost to defenses or offenses respectively -and at the expense of the other.

Rogue Cadre- Playable, custom pirates
Rob, pilfer, and steal your way to greatness. The Rogue Cadre is a melting pot of human cultures, Advent refugees and what remains of the Vasari. They have gathered against the TCA, TOU, Atlantian-Orion Combine and TOC to free humanity from tyranny, mysticism and slavery.
Posess the Precursor Titan and The Machine -the latter capable of capturing capitalships

Arilou Vanguard- UFO race from the Star Control Games
Not being of this dimension, the Arilou do not rely on money and normal means of transport or construction. They simply spawn ships from their "motherships", and travel through Quasispace, which propels them at near instant speeds from planet to planet.

Ur-quan KohrAh Third Doctrinal Fleet- Death race from the Star Control games
Totally aggressive, the Korh-Ah are built for battle. They are all offense, and barely any defense. They focus on exterminating every race and every planet they find, and almost every ship is capable of boming from orbit. Their goal is to "cleanse" the universe of all other sentient life, anything that is not an Ur-Quan.

Ur-Quan KzerZa Third Doctrinal Fleet- Slaving race from the Star Control games
Unlike their Kor-Ah cousins, the Kzer-Za believe in a diplomatic approach, let alone old habits of enslaving entire races into their Hierarchy. They have grown from their 10,000 year old ways, and are more good than bad now.

Atlantian-Orion Combine- the ultimate race, the seeders of life (the gods)
The Combine are part of the original Creator Alliance and responsible for seeding galaxies with genetic data. The Orion are the protectors and defenders until the Atlantian vessels can be fielded. Their greatest strength is their technology, but the loss of labs remove bonuses gained from research.

Taalo Horde- Ancient Rock race, from the Star Control games
As if the universe itself groaned for a protector, the Taalo have awakened from a million year slumber only to find old allies -the Atlantians and Arilou stripping the galaxy of semi-sentient flo-metal. They are the ultimate enviromental defender with a naive sense of justice. They have incorporated alien technology into their asteroid bodies with great results.

Triad of Creation- Ancient Destroyers of Worlds, Galactic Enslavers
The Triad of Creation, the Dnyarri, Antaran and Lapis, seek to eradicate all life in the universe. They nearly destroyed the Atlantian-Orion Combine in the Ori galaxy by turning their creation -the Vasari- against them. They emerged from within the Rogue Cadre taking a sizeable portion of their population into slavery. Their fleets struck the Taalo and Dark Fleet with vessels designed for infiltration nearly crippling the two factions.

We're working on it! Various versions have been out for a while, but you can't just magically update it to a new version of Sins just by clicking one button.

U mean because u need sins 1.05? Dude... I can tell you right off that all u need to do is patch to that and install the mod and enable it in the mod directory and you are rewarded with so many goodies... I'm not involved in making this mod, I just play it. And I play it because its so bad ass. It really rocks. Im a harsh critic and havent found anything better.

You shouldnt trash talk a mod b4 playing it. Its as easy as most other mods are to install. But it does require 2GB of ram to operate well.

i know it takes time but i really want to play the damn mod lol and im not gonna reinstall

If by no one you mean this, then I guess you're right:

SINCE MARCH 31ST, 2008, 7DS HAS BEEN DOWNLOADED OVER 50,000 TIMES,

I just checked Filefront, the beta for the current version has been downloaded almost 1500 times, 16 in the last week. So don't give any of this BS about no one will play it. Like Dizzy said, its not even that hard to do.

Seriously, if you guys (and this goes for everyone, not just you) want to be able to play 7ds on the current version of Sins, quit whining, become a member of the team, and help us convert stuff. Otherwise shut up and wait for us to finish.

lol they're freaking lazy... they don't wanna go do the reinstall... my soultion get a external HD and install it on there XD

if you refuse to play it because you can't be arsed to revert to an older versio of SINS, then it's your loss.  we'll be here having fun and enjoying ourselves while you play with your boring Vanilla sins, or whatever unworthy mods you use

SOGE is not unworthy in fact i find it better than what this mod might offer because i am more a star wars fan then sins and if you are one to i suggest you check out the mod

also some ppl dont have freaking money for an external harddrive and not downloading the updates for sins you ppl are missing out on major bug fixes faction balances and other stuff that make this game even better

1) i'm a student and i don't have any money ever anyway,

and 2) why balance races that almost never get used anyway?

i've never encountered any bugs during all my time spent playing this game, ever

Greeting All!

My....I wanted into a hornets nest didn't I?  Well, I am here to calm you all down.  DON"T WORRY.  I am working on the Entrenchment version right now.  I am in the middle of converting the captials and Titans over, then on to the firgates.  It is taking longer than I thought, since there is so much that changed in each file.  Also, my REAL LIFE is very busy right now, so I only have so much time to dedicate to the mod right now.  Any help converting will be greatly appreciated, as it is only me right now.

Also, for those of you who will not convert backwards or make a 2nd install of the game to play 7DS, that is your choice, but you are missing a lot.  It is very easy to do, and I have both versions on my laptop right now.  I have 1.05, and I have 1.16 with Entrenchment (YES, I bought it!).  To be honest, I am very disappointed with Entrenchment in game changes...rather lackluster when compared to 7DS and other mods.  What has impressed me is all the new modding capabilites.  So I will be upgrading 7DS to Entrenchement.

With the several posts about the purple/Neutron star, that was an earlier (last year around July) idea that I had that I latter scrapped, but now I will br bringing it back actually, and it may be part of 7DS 2.5.

Also, SOGE is a very good mod, and I work with EvilleJedi closely.  The way he solved his issues works for him, and I may experiment with what he had done.  The other thing I am considering (which I have for months now) is making the planets and stars bigger, like in the Celestrial Bodies mod, which is based off of Dolynicks Real Planets mod.  By making the planets and gravitwells more to scale, this will help with the ships colliding factor.

Anyways, stay tuned guys.  You should all get what you want hopefully in the next few weeks, and sooner if I get more help with the conversion.

DANMAN

hopefully you wont run into any minidump causing hardcoded limits since entrenchment adds yet more stuff on its own, and i remember you saying that your mod was already at the limit :(O

if i knew anything about converting i would help you

i'd love to help out, but unfortunatly my coding experience covers VB and SQL and that's it, so i'm sorta useless

How do I use deadly forge after I've downloaded it? Where do I extract it to?

Extract the files to C:\...\ForgeTools1.1\GalaxyForge.

Merge the Icons folders and overwrite GalaxyScenarioDef, I think. Thats how I did it.

Hope this helps.

EDIT: The ... in where you extract it to means where your forge tools are.

Also, does anyone know how to convert files from sins 1.16 to 1.05? I want to add some planets from the Celestial Bodies mod into 7DS.

I'm pretty sure this is gonna make me seem retarded but whats the ... mean?

where your ForgeTools1.1 folder is.

I keep getting 404'd whenever I try to go to the Sins of a Solar Empire Mods page on your site :/.

Edit: Looks like the problem corrected itself, I can download ver 2.1 now ;p.

cant wait to see the entrenchment version

Same here.

On that note, is it even compatible with Entrenchment? I've downloaded it and thrown it in my mod directory, but all I see are enhanced special effects... and I'd really like to try some of these new factions......

no it isn't, the current public version of the mod only works on standard SINS version 1.05. no more, no less. it needs to go the Mods folder for Standard SINS

Yeah, Sins 1.05 for now guys, no Entrenchment.  That is going to be a few more weeks.
