Game Crashes When I Hit End Turn

Whenever I hit end turn on the game I'm playing, it crashes. I have 1.01A, I tried saving it to a new slot, I turned off my firewall, I did everything. However, every time I hit end turn the game CTDs. Any ideas on how to fix this?

Ouch...you don't even get through one turn? Or is your CTD spurratic? Also, what are your system specs?

800 Mhz
256 MB RAM

And I really don't know the rest. And I can get through one turn. I've been playing this game for a while and I'm the most powerful civ in the galaxy. It's just that as soon as I hit "end turn" for this one turn, it CTDs. I also have sporadic CTDs but they're not so bad.

I've had the same problem with crashing to the desktop, but not everytime i hit end turn... happens to me randomly

Oh, if its reproducable, you can zip up the saved game file and send it to us! :D Email it to either [email protected] or [email protected] and we'll be able to find out what's wrong.

I supsect it's the sound driver. What sound card do you have?

Under drivers it's called "Creative SB Live!" so I guess it's SoundBlaster. I turned off the sound before hitting end turn in one game but it didn't work.

I've been getting this crash also. When I updated to 1.01A it let me go 20-30 more turns but it just happened to me again.

I have a soundblaster Audigy and I'm not using a custom mp3 list if that helps. If it's repeatable, I'll send the game to you.

Your game CTD every time in the same turn, when you press the end turn button right? this worked for me:
- save al your savegames, and then do a complete cleanup, remove all savegame files from data/SaveGames, except a unique valid savegame. Then, in the game, save to a new savegame, try a contiguous word like "capacabana". Then load that game .. and you have a good chance to continue this awesome good game.

- if this didn't worked, try to change stuff in that turn, drastic things, change research, production, governement type and (important) governer queues, reset them.
