The latest Community Project. One Hundred : A Tribute to Boxxi

Hello again

I would like to re-announce to the Community the latest on the tribute suite to BoXXi. We have now voted and with input from BoXXi and from the community it is decided that instead of building a suite from an existing BoXXi work ( fruitloops ) , we will now complete what would have been BoXXi's 100th submussion to WC.

The skin the commiunity has chosen will be One Hundered.

I have uploaded the source to https://www.wincustomize.com/skins.aspx?skinid=955&libid=18

I now ask the following for volunteers for the following:

Windowblinds

Iconpackager/Dock icons

Dock Backgrounds

DesktopX gadgets (Weather/clock/calendar)

Media player skins (Xion/Winamp/WMP)

Application skins ( Rainlendar/Sysmetric )

I would like to take this opportunity to invite any and all skinners , coders , testers and anyone that can help out to contribute to help out . If you have code or graphics you would like to build your skin around , or to allow this project to use , it would be appreciated.

If someone on the IRC channel has a 24x7 connection , it would be appreciated if a channel #onehundred could be created so we can come in and chat about our ideas.

I would also like to ask that this thread be stickied / an article created for it.

I'll edit this post as we get more into the project.

It needs no reminding , but this is Our tribute to BoXXi.

okay, starting on the wb today....im just going to call it '100' because thats what boxxi had it named...... i dont have much to go on via the graphics department....so basically the whole skin is going to be my own work, based on the few images boxxi has leant us....... wish me luck...

im posting two shots, of what the outerframe will look like, i have two versions....one pale and one with more of a blue shade.....if anyone wants to imput ideas.....be my guest. please note the second blue one hasnt had finishing touches and probably might look a bit rough......

..at the moment im kind of fustrated, reason: i have basically VERY limited images to work with for this blind, and it isnt much to go on...and basically the blind will be my work and not boxxi's....so i kind of dont feel like it will be a tribute at all.....so im not sure what to do, at least with the old blinds the blinds were complete, and all i had to do was just tweak and update and polish so to speak.....

what does everyone else think about this? and does everyone understand where i am coming from ?

You are doing it as a tribute so the more you create the more time it took the more of a tribute it is! ;)

I like the top image too. Keep going Kitty!  :CONGRAT:  I'm actually glad this isn't just a rework of an older blind. I'm sure Boxxi intended this blind to be different than the rest of them, so don't worry about it being mostly your work. It's a tribute, not a copy of something he did. Keep us posted on your progress!

I agree,go with what feels right to you as an artist.Perhaps you could use some of the features or ideas from some of BoXXi's other work for inspiration.It would be unique,yet still have the BoXXi "feel"

Kitty .. We are all here, as you know ,for one reason .. to turn up summat special as a tribute to Bryan/Boxxi ... and We all have the greatest confidence in what you are doing ... as Long as its for the right reason.. and it sure is ... whats the problem ... ? ? You ARE the Kitty ... and in my opinion ..Kittys Rule ..

Hows' that for a confidence boost .. and heres'another reason .. we all love ya !

I feel the same kitty. I have been trying hard and can't get inspired. So far, all I have is a background, ideas coming slow...  X-( Actually was hoping to get some graphics help from you...lol.
