Suggest a Demigod || Rubric Thread

Tired of seeing the generic 'I want ____ demigod ingame'

Suggest a Demigod

The purpose of this thread is to supply stardock or whoever sees it with a general idea of what demigods
we want inside the game. Not nessecerially all of us will agree on one thing but this thread was made to
organize the thoughts and center the comments on demigod ideas rather then the random

"Super KabLOOM Demigod Please!"

In terms of seeing at least 5 of these, Im perfectly fine with them. What im NOT fine with is that:

-The thread usually only has a theme..period
-No details about the demigod itself
-No details on the type of skills or role it plays
-Assasin or General Type?

So I designed a simple form that YOU guys can fill out for demigods you'd like to see in the game.

[Name]: (Ex. Rook)
[Type]: (Assasin or General)
[Theme]: (Ex. Mechanical Giant]
[Skill Type]: (Ex. Can shoot missles for Area damage,
can deploy robot units for multiple lane dominance)
[Apperance]: (Ex. A Mid-Large size robot with turret hands
and missle shooting shoulders)
[Role]: (Ex. Tank, Caster DPS, Melee DPS, Support)
[Comments]: (Any specific added details thats 'special' about this demigod)

Feel free to leave comments on other people's heroes. What you think of them, if you think it would be nice for the demigod to be in-game,
if you support or want to change up a demigod. The company listens to US, cause well..they got no one else to listen to :D

[Name]: Recron
[Type]: General
[Theme]: Time space/support demigod

[Skill Type]: a recall spell with long down time but the ablity to call to him any allies within a small circle. useful for both the quick escape or the surprise attack.

a stassis spell which takes everything inside the effect out of time for a short period of time.

an illsionary spell which creates a decoy army with no attack but real looking attacks. travels with real army in a real looking mannor.

restore. turning back time on the area healing all units(ally and enemy) within the effect.

Released from the ravages of time. a skill which releases him from time, returning him to his youth and creating a increase in all allies attack speed for a short period of time, as well as increasing his stats. however disabling some of his other skills which he learned to master in his old age.

but mostly just a few sugestions of the skills. i just think a support general of this type would be nice to see.
[Apperance]: Older looking, as one worn of time or one traped in time.
[Comments]: as of the fact i don't know how the generals operate or call their own units i can't really give much sugguestion in that area. but one would figure it would be like recall, or summoning them from another time or place. also as a general his skills would mostly be the type that aid other players and allies one on one or even two on one he would be little help as an assultant but great help in supporting and planing of attacks.

End of swordguyj's quote

like this idea, got a strong protoss vibe going. with the recall spell, you could have it as a passive, also teleporting creeps within a certain radius, so you can lead your troops into battle.

i does have a strong protoss vibe i didn't even think of that, the recall and illsionary army are from the same craft right? can't remeber been a while since i played SC

also restore could be call rewind or something of the sort.

recall and stasis are from the arbiter (the cloaking ship), illusionary army is from the high templar

[Name]: The Minion Master.
[Type]: I think he'd be a general...
[Theme]: Necromancer.
[Skill Type]: He should be able to do a bit of direct damage using one or two basic skills (maybe make one a health drain against a single target and the other a point blank burst with a damage over time effect that hits more targets as the skill improves), but his main abilities should be the creation of an army of minions raised from the remains of the dead around him.  He should have basic minions who are essentially grunts, with the ability to unlock ranged minions, life stealing minions, explosive minions, and ultimately a giant minion.  He could have other skills that improve or modify his minions, too, such as a healing skill that does a little healing to all his minions, or a passive that makes their attacks deal a small amount of damage over time.
[Apperance]: A darkly clad cadaverous man, tall and thin.  Perhaps give him a mask that shows only his eyes (pale blue flames).
[Role]: Caster dps/tank (by means of his minions).
[Comments]: I really love the Guild Wars minion master and think a similar game mechanic would make for a fun demigod.  I figure he'd work nicely if you combined the concept of a drain caster with a minion master, depriving him of other direct damage or disabling abilities in exchange for lots of easy to replace mooks and some healing-at-the-expense-of-his-enemies spells.

Have anyone played the PS2 game Shadow of the Colossus?

We need a demigod of that style.

Which Collosi?

I think a colossus will be a little too big:)

maybe we can have a map located on a giant moving colossus:grin:

Rook is bigger then colossus if u think about the scale of the game urll know

Cause the rook turned himself into his castle to protect his man and if u can fit around 5000 people or more in a castle u got the rook basically and if 5k people can fit in rook each 1 must be so small compared to the rest of the stage for example the minataur to a human he must be a skyscraper so a collosus would fit maybe smaller then the rook actually.

the same goes for supcome if u fixed the cam directly on the floor and looked at the size of tree to that of ur supreme commander then ur looked at a machine thats half the size of earth and extending into space the scale of SupCom engine is wierd

Well I am thinking of a quadrupedal perhaps even a flying one :)

I am just saying we need a Demigod resembling in style to a colossus, big hairy beasts. We can't rip a colossus off anyway that'd be copyright infringement :P

I still think Rook looks too small in the game as strikersgun points out. Then again buildings in the game are small and that distorts the scale.

If you make a colossus in the game it would need to look bigger than the current rook to preserve the details.

[Name]: The Magistrate
[Type]: Assasin
[Theme]: Templaresque, the Heavily Armored Two-Handed Sword kind of guy.  Skills and achievements theme would be very Judge/Court-related.  (OBJECTION!  SH*T! - Deal X amount of returned damage with the Store damage skill listed below)

[Skill Type]: The Magistrate is a Demigod of Justice and Balance.  As such, many of his skills either reduce damage taken (including skill damage!) or causes thorns-style damage (Eye for an Eye) to the user.  For active skills, one skill that stores damage for x seconds, then unleashes y% of that damage in a straight line/cone in front of the Magistrate...and another skill that leeches life directly from enemy units upon striking.
[Apperance]: A lot like the "Giant" hireable unit -- a heavily armored infantry person with a large sword (but the Magistrate's would be two-handed)
[Role]: Tank, Heavy Damage.
[Comments]: Not one of my better ideas, I know.  But I was feeling the need to suggest a Templar-kind of guy.

[Name]: The Messiah
[Type]: General
[Theme]:Monk/Mage

[Skill Type]: Passive Skill 1: Mana Shield: When The Messiah takes damage, it is subtracted from any availiable mana in his/her mana pool.

Passive Skill 2: Zeal Aura: Friendly troops in the area recieve a damage boost.

Base Attack: Magic Missile: Shoots a magic missle at target.

Non-Passive Skill 1: Healing Rain:  Creates a rain cloud at target location which heals everything being touched by the rain.

Non-Passive Skill 2: Fireball:  Shoots fireball at target.  fireball does AOE damage on impact.

Non-Passive Skill 3: Lighting Bolt:  Shoots lighting bolt at target and does damage in a line starting from the caster going towards the target.

Non-Passive Skill 4: Summon Earth Golems:  Summons 2 earth golems with low damage and high hp.  Look terrain they were summoned on.

Non-Passive Skill 5: Martyr:  Turns into Giant Angel for a set time with high melee DPS, no abilities, large cost/cooldown, dies at end of time.

[Apperance]: Something Similiar to the angels from the Diablo series except no wings, so an armored monk (robe with hood over head).
[Role]: Troop Support/Ranged DPS.
[Comments]: Very low life, but high mana pool.  Due to mana shield, The Messiah has to balance keeping up his mana shield (passive) and dealing damage/supporting troops.

[Skill Type]: Needs a skill that a percentage of damage Nemisis takes is given back to the attacker and something that deals damage based off of the Percentage of health loss

[Apperance]: Human wearing scalemail chest and a leather hood, pants, gloves, and boots, wielding a Falchion

[Role]: Tank/Dps Support
[Comments]: Should be a very independant hero, a hero that can do things by himself without allies

Name: The Ancient
Type: Assassin
Theme: A Lich, you people do know what a lich is right?

Skills: Sense im not sure on what the skills thing is currently like Ill just post up a few Active and a Few Passive auras and such.

Active: When you think of a Lich what do you think of? That Powerfull Undead Caster whos Immortallity is brought about by Necromancy and Powerfull Unholy Pacts? Or the Freezing Cold of its touch and the wicked presence of fear it Eminates?

Necromatic Rejuvination: A Spell that pulls about from the corpses of fallen enemies to heal the wounds laid upon the Undead Mage. (I will give you the reason as to this in just a moment.) This should be cast when there are corpses of ally units around or enemy units, There flesh is drawn into the Lich and has the potential to heal him back to full if fully upgraded.
Pact of Shadows: AoE Stun. Useing his ties to the dark energies of the universe he draws up a well of black shadow mixed into the center of the area, This spell is a Ring Set AOE. Meaning the farther from the center the less damage and less Stun Time. a clear warning should be given a second before this goes off.
Touch of Undeath: Everything needs a Nuke, this is the Lichs. Simply put It hits one target for low to moderate damage, has a very long range and can slow them down. Great to pop those Opposing Demigods who like to run away. It should also be noted that Me personally would have it if a creature dies by this spell, it comes back as a Ghoul or some such for a limited amount of time, or have a limit to the number of them.
Calling of the Bones: Now time to make the big stand. Calling of the Bones, a Necromancers soul purpose is to channel Life into Death, and Manipulate Death itself. With this spell you turn your average Wicked Demigod of Pure Evil into something special that Ties together the need for the other spells. Simple put this spell lets you summon a Undead creature to fight with you, you can have multiple of these things and they are fairly weak, what they do get though is that instead of being used for damage and such. They (when in close proximity of the Lich) Boost the Power of his other abilities, and boost his overall effectivness. With none out he is a fairly weak and average Demigod on par with a General, but.. His power begins to boost, his strength begins to climb as he aguments himself with these pets. Now for the Downside, though they add to his strength and make him fairly powerfull, they slowly drain away his life, because he channels away the very essence of what keeps him in his state of Unlife, to fuel these beasts which in turn channel to him the agonies and power of Death.
Passives: Now that I got some of the Power out of the way, lets talk about the Quirky wierdness that I would make a Lich, Which include A Aura, a Chance on Hit, and a Lovely Little Boost.

Corruption: Im use to writing down good ideas for a game, but sometimes I suprise myself. Corruption is the effect this creature has on those around him, Its a roll of the dice to see what exactly happens. Every 10 seconds a bad thing will happen to those stuck within this Aura, and its effect is randomized because it Corrupts in different ways. Light Damage, a Medium Slow, a 1 second Stun, a Vampiric DOT, a 10 second Reanimation, and even the Occasional Confusion, or Nothing at All. Every 10 seconds every creature that doesnt like you, is rolled upon to have one of the mentioned effects, No one effect happens at a time, and its completely random who it hits and how hit hits them to each unit caught in the aura.
Drain Essence: This Wicked Little Spell is simple enough. It has a chance when you hit some creature to critical hit, draining away a extra portion of its life to give to the Lich. Simple as that, but certain skill upgrades could add to this different Other effects. A DOT, Or Weakening, or something like that. Does it seem like Im giving the Lich alot of really good healing abilities? Thats because I am, and here is why...
Unliving: The Lich is a Undead thing. It is a Horrid monstrousity that doesnt need to breath, eat or sleep, cant be effected by stabbing a major organ, because there all withered and destroyed. he is Immune to Stuns, and Status Aliments.. Downside though.. He cant use any form of healing OTHER than his abilities presented above, only by Fighting can he regain health. This means that he is in constant threat of being killed and needs to jump into battle to be able to continue to fight. A Major Buff that Comes with a Major Drawback. No Health Regen helps this poor guy.

Apperance: The Undead King. Hail to the King Baby... He should be a Rotting Corpse floating about the battlefield with tattered black robes, perhaps a crown of some sorts if you wana take the Undead king thing Seriously. A Large Black wand with a Eyeball that so loves to stare at you in one hand, and a book that has a screaming maw made of flesh in the other. His little Shades of Agony (The thing I call the units from Calling of the Bones) Crawling about him to feed the power of the dead to him, and to protect him if need be.

Comments: The Pros and cons of this character should be summarized up easily, Pro: Powerfull Magic user with Bonus Minions to help power him, A strong set of abilities to help control the battlefield to his favor, and a ever growing Power as the Battle rages on around him. Cons: Extremely Weak without Minions, Fragile if caught in melee, and Can not heal useing potions or health regen.

I have many many more Ideas like this, many many more for this Character and Others. If You wana hear a Backstory to this Demigod or if you wana hear more of my ideas, just ask. [email protected] (Dont Flood me People)

While I am not in the currect beta, I have pre-ordered the game and hope to get into the next stage of the beta process.  That being said, I don't know much of actual game mechanics and skills, but I did come up with an idea for a Demigod.  Here it is...

[Name]: Danesum Thunderfist

[Type]: Assassin

[Skill Type]: Now there are only 4 skills that I have thought of, but came up with conditions to use some of them.  Generic skill name will be in parenthesis.  I will explain in more detail the conditions/mechanics of skill usage in the comments section.

1.  Thunderfist (Lightning Strike) - Basic and first skill.  This is the backbone to the other two attack skills.  Medium range single target attack.

2.  Path of Thunder (Chain Lightning) - Second attack, only usable after "X" amount of Thunderfist casts.  Medium range and the damage will be 150% of Thunderfist's damage, to the first target, then damage is 100% for 2nd target and reduced by 15% for each additional target hit.

3.  Fist of God (Lightning Bolt) - Third and final attack, usable only after "X" amount of Path of Thunder casts.  Long range (I'd like it to be infinite range, so you could possibly target any Demigod anywhere on the map), single target, cast time dependant on range (or just a longer cast time like 3-5 seconds), and base damage is 400% of Thunderfist.

4.  Flash (Teleport) - The fourth skill would be a teleportation to get in or out of battle.  Medium to long range.  Obviously meant for escaping battles, but with skill augmentations (which I would have in skill tab instead of new skills) it could be used to teleport next to your victim.

[Apperance]: Danesum Thunderfist is a lightning incarnation, so his character would obviously have surges and crackling of electricity showing randomly around his body.  As for his physical appearance, I picture him more of a Bruce Lee looking guy, shirtless and ripped, wearing those martial arts pants (white) and those slipper shoes (black).  He could have Goku (DragonBall Z) style hair (White though), and his eyes could have lightning flowing out of them.  The lightning attacks would come out of his palms, so electricity could flow from his body to his hands when he casts.  For the Fist of God skill I'd like it to be instead of pointing his palm towards the enemy, his whole body becomes a conduit of electrical power and the attack flies into the air and finally crashes back down with devastating force onto his target.

[Role]: Caster DPS

[Comments]: Now for the mechanics of casting the second and third attack spells, I came up with a charge system (similar to combo points in World of Warcraft I suppose).  The premise is that in order to cast his 2nd spell, there needs to be say like 5 charges built up, and to build charges you have to cast Thunderfist multiple times.  Likewise to cast his 3rd spell (strongest) he needs say 3 charges of Path of Thunder.  I don't know how cooldowns work yet, so this might not be possible at all, but the charges could last 30 seconds before beginning to diminish.  This way the Demigod must constantly be in combat so that he can use his stronger attacks do hurt and kill other Demigods.

As far as the skill tree goes, I know some people might say "wow 3 atk skillz is teh suck," but in the skill tree there could be various augmentations/upgrades to each skill.  Like for the first skill, Thunderfist, there could be a Damage Increase, Range Increase, and possible a final upgrade at higher levels that actually makes the skill transmit 30% of its base dmg to enemies between you and the target.  For the 2nd spell, there could be upgrades to hit more enemies after the first, increase damage of subsequent targets, or even to "fork" the first blast, sending out 2 or 3 Path of Thunders with its chain lightning effect.  For Fist of God there can be damage upgrade (making it very powerful) or even different effects when it hits, like a small blast radius making it a powerful aoe, or giving it a stun on the target with a shock (slow) to nearby enemies.  Of course you would not be able to get EVERY upgrade, so even multiple Demigods would have vastly differating skill effects.

[Passive Skills]: This is a list of a few passive skills that could be attained through the skill tree.

Lightning Manifestation - Since Danesum Thunderfist IS lightning, he has a chance to evade all incoming attacks with his obviously lightning fast reflexes.

Fearless - An aura that effects nearby allied units/Demigods that increases their attack speed and skill recharge times.  Does not effect Danesum Thunderfist.

Overload - The power of lightning is too much to be contained in human form, and periodically "leaks" out causing damage to nearby enemies.  Pretty much a small damage aura that just helps add some DPS.

Thunderfist Heritage - More than just a name, this passive skill increases his melee attack rate (Did I forget to mention he would be a melee caster? haha)

Thats all I got right now.  Can't wait to play the game.

(srry if someone already put somtin like tis)

[Name]: Phobia

[Type]: General

[Theme]: Fear

[Skill Type] Just what it sounds like.  Of course, if this is one of those RTSs where there isn't fear, this guy wouldn't work.  If there was, it'd be awesome.  Anyways.  Pretty much his summoning spell analyzes what type of unit the enemy is weak against, and makes some of those units. With more levels, he can make more and more of those units.

Skill 1(Active): Summon Fear: You target an enemy and create 2 units based on that enemy's weakness.  Charge for 2 secs.  More levels= Multiple targeting and stronger units.

Skill 2(Active): Horror: AoE debuff effect.  Target an area and fill the enemies' minds with images of their own deaths.  Reduces attack and defense, and with more levels the AoE is larger.

Skill 3(Active):  Illusion: Create images of Phobia in the midst of your enemies.  They only exist for a little while,  but do what I call 'Illusion' damage (it stays there for a little while, but since is not there, it heals over time.).  You target an enemy and the units are summoned around them.  Also, one of the 'Phobias' takes the place of where the original one was, with the original charging into the fray. All of the 'Phobias' are identical, so no one can tell the diference except the player controlling Phobia.  More levels make more copies, stronger copies, and a longer time that the copies stay.

Skill 4(Active): Enigma: Phobia's weapon is... different.  This ability goes starts at one click and ends at a second.  Phobia stays where he's at, swinging around a weapon that morphs even as he's impaling an enemy with one end, and bashing in an enemy's skull with the other. This ability is like an AoE, and has both good attack and defense.  When no one's around to attack, however, Phobia is vulnerable.  More levels give more attack and defense, and a little effect of fear with each hit that he lands.

Skill 5(Passive): Terrorize: Phobia's mere presence is enough to inspire fear in the hearts of his enemies.  More levels give larger AoE and more fear.

Of course he has to have a weakness, and here it is:

Skill 6(Passive): Courage: The longer Phobia is in battle with someone, the less damage and defense he has, and the more that his enemy has.  This is his only weakness.  Since he feeds off the fear of others, if they lose that fear, Phobia weakens.  This is not an upgradeable skill, pretty much like a notice, since the effects can be huge.

[Appearence]: Human-like structure, tall and lanky, and I imagine him with a black- with dark blue trim robe with grey armor on his vitals( chest, back, legs, arms.) but you can still see a fair amount of the robe.  The head is exposed, black shoulder-length hair and snow-white skin.

[Comments]: I would write a back-story, but I don't have time.  Reply and tell me your thoughts, thx.

[Name]: Apollyon
[Type]: Assassin
[Theme]: God/Angel of Death
[Skill Type]:

Basic attack- Strike with one of his two axes.

Active Skills:

Locust Horde- Apollyon calls in a group of locusts that completely destroy anything in a certain radius.

Soul Reap- For a short period of time, Apollyon takes the soul of each enemy he kills. This makes him stronger and stronger until the end of Soul Reap, and then his damage and attack speed go back to normal.

Passive skills:

Banishment- 2.5% chance of "banishment" on hit. Banishment results in instant death as the victim is sent to the Bottomless Pit.

Weapon Master- Can attack more than one target at a time.

And that's all I can think of right now.
[Apperance]: Slightly larger than a human. Apollyon has reverse jointed legs, wears a black robe with an armor plate on the outside, and wears a hood. No face to be seen. Has two large, partially decayed wings and wields 2 large axes.
[Role]: A kind of mix between a Melee DPS and a Tank.
[Comments]: Kind of based on Apollyon as described in Revelations, in which he was the Holder of the Key to the Bottomless pit, and king of the Bottomless Pit Locusts.

[Name]: Desrus
[Type]: Assassin
[Theme]: Sand Stalker; Dune Worm
[Skill Type]:

Passive:

All Devouring: Desrus' has a gaping hole covered in thousands of teeth for a mouth. As it peirces the ground into a battlefield it can swallow dozens of armed forces, nurturing itself on the life of it's enemies. When Desrus stops moving, it will puncture the ground above it, swallowing and killing any enemies above. For each enemy devoured, Desrus is healed by X% of it's life. (This has a X second cooldown, and during this time, if the player moves Desrus, it will be shown as 'chewing' the units it last devoured. Note, Desrus is only healed after the chewing is complete)  This deals X damage to generals and assasins.

Mounstrousity's Tongue: Desrus' tongue is known to stretch out for hundreds of meters for a fitting meal. It's covered in a sticky slime, and the base of the tongue is an incredibly powerful muscle, therefore capable of dragging the largest foes. Every x seconds, if Desrus is stationary during those seconds, it's tongue will fly out, grabbing a nearby unit and pulling it it. It will then either deal X amount of damage to the unit, or Devour the unit as similiar to the All Devouring ability. However, it does not 'Chew' this unit.

Teeth: Desrus' mouth is filled with razor sharp teeth, each one strong enough to puncture some of the strongest armor. A light tap against common infantry with these teeth has been known to slice them in half. Enemies touching Desus are dealt X damage per second.

Active:

Horned Head: Desrus' has three horn positioned at the end of its three-cheeked mouth. If it lurches, it can gore enemies in it's path. Desrus can lurch for X distance from it's current position, dealing X damage to any units near it's mouth. Urgh. Log In problems. I will have to make edits this way

Passive:

Slime: Unlike most serpents, Desrus is slimey. It secretes a goo-like substances over it's skin. Originally, this was an evolution designed to create a barrier of sand stuck to Desrus skin for a sort of cameofluage, but that didn't prove effective. However, it did have other uses. It's both sticky andholds rocks as armor to Desrus. Lowers damage dealt to desrus by X damage. While Desrus is moving, units that collide with Desrus are pulled along for X seconds.

Active:

Quake: Desrus has been known to vibrate it's body in such ways that an earthquake is generated around it, tearring down entire cities. Desrus channels this over X second. Every second, X number of rock-spines shoot from the ground dealing damage to units near them. Enemy units are slowed by X%. Buildings are dealt X damage each second.
