Edit, image didn't upload, so, the enemy structures are black blobs, my torchbearer is just a basic, block red model, with my allies being orange and blue (i think) The game also runs quite choppy, which may just be my processer.. The same basic problem is elsewhere in the forum, and annoying too :P Thanks.

I have an X800 XL and am also suffering terrible performance issues (1-2 fps in game). I documented my issues in this thread: http://forums.demigodthegame.com/323109

The OP in that thread was also suffering bad performance issues, but he/she was running an X700 series card.

Running an X800 Pro as well, and having the same problem

I don't see the problem in the picture?

R300, R420 cards don't have shader model 3, which is required in Demigod, but instead use shader model 2.0b.

End of DeadMG's quote

Oh I didn't know that...thought they didn't change the SupCom engine that much. X800 cards use Pixel Shader 2.0 as well...so that solves the mystery.

Right.. so it's a new graphics card needed then? *oh dear lol*

I think they should add support for those cards if it isn't too hard, because those cards should run the game just fine if their shaders were supported.

Don't rush and spend your money. Since Stardock probably wants to make this as accessible as possible, they might include a SM2 mode by final release.

I very much hope so, it's on kryo's bug list now so i'm hoping it will seen to by the guys upstairs. It's just a shame to have such an early setback, but i wont rush into things, i have faith in SD/GPG :)

Grr, no edit..

Just to say thanks guys for the diagnosis and help :)
