video card

well since this was the stress beta i figured i would try it on all my machines which vary in strenght. well four total. for the first three ran fine but the final one would not initialize the game. i know it is the video card which is an older one geforce fx 5500, even tried updateting the drivers which totally screwed everything else up. i doubt you really don't care if it runs of this video card and probably way under specked but just figured i would let you know.

I do not believe that it is wise to try to run that game with anything below a GeForce 6600 (or its ATI equivalent).

By the way ... for XP, the last "certified" nVidia drivers (175.19) were released towards the end of June. I had no problem with them.

Today, I uninstalled them to test the most recent, beta drivers (177.92), which were released towards the end of August. No problem yet.

If you wish to update your videocard's drivers, please go to the Windows add/remove-programs menu, and first uninstall your current drivers (and then reboot before installing the new ones).

Launching the drivers-installer without having uninstalled the current drivers should execute a suitable file-overwrite ... but it is not prudent to proceed in that manner. The nVidia website does recommend to first uninstall.

As far as i know the supcom engine doesn't run on anything under the 6 series Nvidia cards, so your 5500 won't work(won't initialize like you said)

yeah i figured it wasn't suported so i didn't really try, but i just figured i would tell them since they might want to know. it runs great on my main comp and that is all i care about personally

I tried it on 3 computers and sadly the outcome wasn't so good on all 3.

1. Dell laptop with integrated intel graphics.  doesn't work at all (Direct3d error seen in other threads)   I think if they add pixel shader 2 support.  This is my primary pc and I used it to play WoW and red alert3 beta often.

2. older Desktop in the office room using radeon 9600.  Runs but choppy graphics at like 3 frames per second.  This pc and graphics card is 4 years old.

3. HTPC desktop built this year.  This was built to play movies in the living room with hdmi output 1080p and I never intend to use it to play games.  It has a built in nvidia geforce 7100 on the motherboard.  It runs demigod but still slow with all options set to low.  It's slow enough for me to not like this game.

My option is to get a better graphics card around ~$100 for my htpc desktop but I don't want to spend that much for 1 game.  Besides, it's hard to game in the living room.

The laptop will have a hard time regardless, I'm not sure you'll be able to get a great framerate out of it, but it should be playable as a . The older desktop shouldn't actually work, it doesn't support shader model three, so you may get a lot more out of it if the devs support SM 2
