[Gameplay] Enemy Demigods hard to differentiate from Friendly Demigods

Not sure if this has been raised or not  and I hope I am not stating something that is in the pipeline or configurable.

...but I have a trouble determining the enemy Demigods from the friendly Demigods

Is it possible to make a more visual difference between the 2 teams ? - Scroll over tool tip showing this is an enemy / more pronounced team colours ?

Thanks

Look at the cape for Torchbearer, look at the shoulderpads for Regulus.

I don't play with Rook so i don't know where to look for him.

But if you know what you're looking for, it's easy. No need for more.

It's still a bit of a problem, when you first start playing the game it is hard to figure out which is which

That's why you look and learn. I wasn't aware we needed to babysit people by making something more obvious when we could just stick it in the manual with the full release.

Most ordinary players dont read the manual. The Demigods do need to be more diferentiable for the low level players, especially the rook

The Rook has a very small flag with a different colour for each team ( I think)

Its difficult to tell who is who from a zoomed out view.

It will probably get solved by a minimap or radar, and when zoomed out, colored unit icons.

just mouse over them quickly whenever a demigod comes anywhere on ur screen or when u see that it doesnt give off a line of sight which elimates part of the FoW then u know its an enemy ive had no problems with differentiacting enemies using these 2 methods

I think making something more distinct would help a lot. Usually the opposing team is thought of as red and just a tiny red aura or something would help I think.

If you watch some of the commentary the developers of team fortress 2, they said that they designed the shape and coloration of every character so that you would be able to easily identify any other player immediately and from a distance.  I think it would be good to follow in these footsteps.  As of Beta 1 in Demigod, the different playable characters are different enough that there's not much chance of confusing them, but it could definitely use more differentiation between those on the good and evil teams.

I totally agree that the game needs to show right away and easily from which team is a Demigod. Saying: "Simply get used to" is not the good answer... it needs to jump in your face. This is what we call: good gameplay and interface.

I absolutely agree.  It should be obvious as soon as you see the Demigod which team he is on.

This is an issue we're aware of -- I agree that it's too difficult to tell who is who.  We'll be making some changes that'll make it a bit easier to tell who is enemy/friendly.

Like most of the other people in this thread I find it hard to tell the difference as well. It should be very obvious without having to "workout" how to spot the difference.

Glad to hear the devs think the same thing.

Thank you for the input! I will forward it on to the higher ups!
