Thoughts on the VP Debate

Thoughts on the VP Debate

Biden kicked Palin's ass.  No question.

How much pandering to the 'Sixpack Joe' and 'hockey moms' can you do, Palin?  Christ, I was embarrassed for you.  On top of that, she talked to us like we were children....it's insulting.  If I hear the word 'maverick' one more God damned time I'm going to snap on someone...is that the only word she fucking knows?

Both of them were pretty heavy on the word, 'fundamental' but I'm pretty sure the count is lower than 'maverick.'  I really, really hate buzzwords.  Also- "nucular"...Jesus...nuclear, nuclear, NUCLEAR-SAY IT HOW IT'S SPELLED!

Oh, and she hasn't promised anything, she's only been at this for 5 weeks.  But she'll promise to "DO WHAT'S RIGHT!" for America.  Can you get anymore cliche?

Anywho, there's not much of a contest...Palin was avoiding questions early on.  "I may not answer the way Biden or the moderator want me to."  What the fuck?  Shit, this is a debate!  Completely changing the question and topic was pretty damn pathetic as well.  Biden was a little guilty of this...but I felt he actually answered more questions than Palin did.  He called her out on question dodging too, kudos to Biden.

Palin did the stereotypical 'turn everything into emotion' appeal.  Patriotism this, greatest country that...blah, blah, blah...all canned quips and pure bullshit.  Biden had facts and statistics...Palin just tried to appeal to whoever she could.

Well, I'm sure the lot of you disagree...but in my opinion, Biden stomped her ass into the ground.

Zoo....you're such a.......LIBERAL!

There's no way in heck you were going to come up with anything diff than what you presented here.   So no surprises.

If you had, I would be looking up because I would be sure it was the second coming!  O:)

Well... raising something, anyway.

Eh...raising that is no miracle.

You say that as if it's a bad thing... ^_^'   Actually, more often than not I'm moderate.  If Palin did a better job, I wouldn't have been this harsh...but she sucked, so this is what I wrote.

I agree with you, Zoo.  I think Palin started out strong, but about 90 seconds in she starting getting under my skin.  By the time an hour went by if I hear another 'doggone it' or 'hockey mom' joke I was going to jump through the screen and wring her skinny neck.  Or maybe just mess up her immaculate hair.

Honestly, while she answered the questions, she was mostly just relying on her winning smile and charming looks to win that debate.  And she failed.

Joe made some mistakes, too, but...he won.

Good idea.

And by the way.  I CAN'T HANDLE ANOTHER FOUR YEARS OF NUCULAR!!!!!!!!!

I CAN'T HANDLE ANOTHER FOUR YEARS OF NUCULAR!!!!!!!!!

Oh God...neither can I...

I was wondering whether she was doing that on purpose.  The moderator said it...she knew how it was supposed to sound, but no...let's use syllables that aren't even there.  Nuclear...new and clear...easy, right?  Apparently not.  *sigh*

I think right wingers think Palin won and left wingers think Biden won.

Over on Fox, the viewer poll had Palin winning by like 4 to 1.

Over on MSNBC, it was practically the other way around.

Well, yeah.  No matter which side you're on, you're going to think your candidate won.  Nobody is ever willing to say anything bad about their guy.

I wonder how Matt Gonzalez would have done against those two?  Guess we'll never find out, because third parties aren't allowed.  American politics are VERY exclusive.

Yeah, I saw an article about that.  If you're really supporting someone, then they're always winners to you...cause no one wants to support a perceived loser, do they?  Nope.

Hmm, when's the next presidential debate?  I hope it'll be better than the last one...it was pretty bland that time.
