[BUG] Ooze causes plague

I mentioned about a week ago that I thought this was the case, but I've had time to create a fairly rigorous, repeatable test for it. To definitavely rule out all other causes, the UB needs to have the Plague and Ooze abilities, and not be wearing any armor with a Thorns attribute. staying well away from towers (so that creeps don't become infected as they walk past), find a group of creeps coming towards you. First with ooze off, walk through the creeps, using a force move (as opposed to attack move) so that the UB doesn't make any attacks. Although he may take a little damage, no enemy creeps get the green plague letters above their heads. Once past all of the group of creeps, turn plague on and walk back through, again not attacking anyone. This time, once sludge has hit the enemy creeps once or twice, suddenly the whole group will get plagued. As the only difference (and source of the UB's damage) between the two groups under otherwise identical circumstances is ooze, I think it's confirmed that ooze damage causes plague. Considering that this means any enemy units anywhere near the UB regardless of their interactions (or lack thereof) will automatically get the disease the moment the ability goes active, I think it's something that needs to be addressed.

I don't see why the Ooze wouldn't cause plague.

It's....umm......disgusting and extremely unhygienic? Why wouldn't it cause plague?

Heh,

I actually had to laugh when I saw someone had reported this as a bug! I object to the effectiveness of Plague as well by the way, I was simply quite amused by your decision to term it thusly.

My problem with the ability, regardless of my other comments elsewhere as to when Plague might or might not be imparted, is that disease needs time to transmit and be communicated... to infect. "Plague" right now acts more like Chain Lightning - the very instant one is infected, practically everyone in any group is infected. Each entity that encounters Plague should be checking over time for infection. It needs to be scaled back drastically.

The text description for plague specifically states that it only occurs when you attack someone. Similar to the way that Thorns also causes plague, Ooze allows the UB to simulataneously infect many, many times more creeps than otherwise would be possible, and in this case to do so even beyond the reach of his melee attacks. As this is likely one of the driving forces behind the balance-shattering ability that is Plague, I think it counts as a bug.

Oh, and I added the [BUG] descriptor at least in part because the GPG Servo goes has had a tendency to do that automatically to most posts that report any sort of problem, thus avoiding the need for correction and its very dissapointed, passive-agressive comments. :)
