[Idea] How to make Demigod more awesome:

User-based content creation!

Now I know I may be speaking out of turn here but (I don't actually *have* the beta just yet, but I searched the forum cand came up with bupkis..) anyway I need to know a few things:

1: Will there be map tools? (they don't have to exist just yet)
Map tools would allow things like *very* large scale battles. (i.e. the map maker can spam the sides with creep making machines) We could have funky mazes or none at all. Imagine a nice flat battleground where the creeps just fan out into a massive brawl. (I think it's awesome >_> ) Also, map making tools are what spawned the game that Demigod is based on. So I think it would be pretty important to make a toolset that allows for editing to take place.

2: If 1 is true, will small stuff be easy to edit?
I'm thinking Sins of a Solar empire easy. You open up a .entity file, and fiddle with the variables you know and love. Major things like new characters will need to be imported and all that jazz I know, but that can be an "advanced" bit I think? (Failing random text file editing, a nice UI would be cool)

3: if above are true, can we include them in the distro?
Please? I'll be your best friend?

1. game settings will allow for creep spam, no need for custom maps. if not, simple gameplay mods will suffice.

2. yes. it's the Moho Engine (or a derivative there-of), all the awesomeness of modding in SupCom might be available in DG so long as SD gives it the go-ahead (that's the big issue, pressure StarDock for serious mod-support).

last night i made a mod for SupCom that recalculates ALL the rates of fire and damage for EVERY unit based on the AVERAGE rate of fire. i'm rather certain that it'll take 35 SECONDS for me to port it to the DG beta and have it work PERFECTLY.

Likely we won't be able to make maps like the ones already built, but some sort of basic map making tool would be nice.

Hmm. I'm not looking to change the game settings, I just want to create large-scale battles over a wide area, think of any movie where a massive battle happened on a field. I want that. Creep spamming down an alleyway just isn't the same you know? ^_^

@ number 2: Sweet :) Yeah, better start SD pressure then hey? >:]
