Hi all, I just preordered the game last night and downloaded Impulse. I was hoping to be able to DL a beta client (realizing i wouldnt be able to use it yet) but this doesnt seem to be the case. Any idea on what we are supposed to do with our reference codes other thhan seemingly sit on them for now?

hmmm, any word on whether Beta 1.x will still be closed, or will it be available for new testers?

 

If closed, 10day, you'll have to sit on it until Beta 2.0 comes out sometime before November 27.

I just got done talk with one of Stardocks sale reps about this same question.

I pre-ordered on Sunday night and I know that my card has not been charged and I have not received any registration information for Demigod. The reply that I got back is as follows:


Hello,

The beta for Demigod is currently closed so you will not be charged, nor have access to it, until it is reopened. At that time, you will receive information about how to obtain the game and your card will be charged. Please let me know if I can be of further assistance.

This seemed a little odd to me b/c in the Sins of a Solar Empire pre-order beta I purchased the game when a beta was not open and I was still able to download and play the game.

Could we get a confermation from someone on the development team?

I have heard that from several other sources as well.  You have to wait for the next beta phase.  There was a period of time after the beta was released when you could still preorder and get in, but that time has passed.

To confirm:

When you purchase a pre-order game you are not charged until the next phase of the beta starts. Once it does you are then charged for the game and the beta will be available to you through Impulse (provided that you have clicked on the Stardock Orb in the top left corner > preferences > and checked the box "Show pre-release.."). As updates come down the pipe they are downloaded and installed through Impulse as well. Of course this is the same way you will get the full version of the game. If you like you can join us in the IRC chat client build into the Community tab of Impulse and join the room #demigod. Let me know if you have further questions!

I hope they will get Beta 2 out this month cause its just in time for Black Friday to upgrade my PC.
